  • Unscramble the games

Put these in order of release year. Each of them is my favorite game for its year, and there's only one for each year.

    Civilization II
    Deus Ex
    Halo
    Warcraft III
    Half-Life
    Quake II
    Call of Duty
    Doom
    Sid Meier's Alpha Centauri
    Marathon
    Warcraft II

All of these games are extremely famous so a true gamer should be able to do this perfectly.

okay let's see here. I haven't played all of them so we'll see. Halo was an X-box game, I'll assume you mean the PC release.

    Marathon? never heard of it
    Doom
    Civ2
    Warcraft II
    Sid Meiers Alpha Centauri
    Half-Life
    Deus Ex
    Quake II
    Warcraft III
    Halo
    Call of Duty

Your ordering isn't atrocious, but it's pretty bad. Quake II is way too late, SMAC is way too early, for starters. You haven't heard of Marathon because it was a mac game. It was an early work of Bungie, the creators of Halo.

I do know SMAC is 1999. the same year I orginally created a login for Apolyton (using a different screen name than this one).

        Civ2 is 1996.

        Call of Duty is 2004

        Halo is 2003 (PC)

Warcraft III is 2003 I think- maybe 2002.

Half Life I think is 1999. I believe that is the game that beat out Planescape: torment for Computer Gaming World magazines game of the year.

I'm talking about Halo's Xbox release year. Otherwise it doesn't work out.

You are correct that SMAC is 1999. You're also correct that Civ2 is 1996.

The past three years have been pretty sad for PCs. Nothing particularly spectacular. Some of the best PC games of recent years have been console ports. However I think that this year there will be good games.

Working on unscrambling it... I've got the last three and I have a general idea of where most of them should be.

                    Wait, aren't DN3D and MM2 both from 1996?

Well, five of them are in the right places and the rest are in way off ridiculous places for the most part.
