      I'm level 18 on Kalimdor. Havent played in +2 month-ish because my desktop is teh broke. Because my laptop sux ass, Ive been playing only console games these days. (like fighting games and EA sports games mostly)

      My friend is now like in mid twenties. My other friend who plays in clan game is always making pseudo names... but he's the best among our group.

      As for the singleplayer of Warcraft III, the campaigns were boring and way too easy, even on the Hard setting, and its story was so utterly predictable. Though Age of Mythology didn't have much of a campaign either, at least it is stronger on the multiplayer side to the point that it is perhaps the only game I still enjoy playing online.
      WC game can get pretty big. if u survive initial 7-8 deadly min (where like most games get decided). there are games where ppl max all 90 food and bring out all 3 heros etc. Also if people dont quit (most people realize and quit when the difference in tech/resource army cant be turned over) and fight to the death, WC can get pretty big.

      But I see what you're saying. I havent played age of myth so i wouldnt know though, but if both people are really good wouldnt it end early too? Most RTS seems to have a really short time in deciding the victor.

      SC story plot = WC story plot. "Oh no, wretched enemy, fate binds us to ally. Gay story twist." anyway, enough with SP.

        werd. WC2 Bnet ed is the ****. but I have to say WC3 is so much better. I can see why prefer prefer WC2 over 3 though. I mean back in the days people were playing that over SC...

        forgot one big negative imo:

        there's a lot of retards/idiots/insane people on bnet.

        as doc said it. Besides, retards in RTS isnt that bad when ur playing 1v1. if ur playing 2v2, you should have a friend whos a solid player anyway. MP is mostly social game. If you dont have friends to play with. you're missing like 98% of the fun. Games like FPS suffer more from retards than RTS. In FPS you need a whole team of non-****** (friend, clan member) to get game to at least be playable the way it was meant to be... I have never seen that achieved in pub games in my life. ever.

        Now with that in mind, SC/WC3 bnet is like heaven for compt. players.

                you should play there. you learn so much. I started as a complete scrub, now i think of myself as a scrub who know better than to do stupid crap.

                Saving a replay of ur ass being handed down and watching it 10000X times to understand why = top tier learning program. :b;

                I still suck... :*(

                  The Korean gosu thing is a little overblown for WC3 actually (though Showtime is IMO the most versatile player in the world).......kinda leftover from the SC days. Sure compared to US East and even West its better but it's pretty much on a par with Northrend. Many of the big tourneys have been dominated by European players, and the league results have also shown there is no real gap between the two realms.

                  Getting your ass handed to you is a learning event no matter where you play.

                    I agree wit you in that generally Euros get underrated and koreans get overrated.

                    but id still say comp in korea is much much tougher. They both have about just as much tourney, although Koreans have it better when it comes to sponsorship and making things grander IMO. Koreans are still laggin behind in moving away from SC to WC.. and yet they still in my opinion are generally better than euros.

                    As rough evidence, look at the ladder. Korean ladder dominates with alot of lv 50 players. There's none in Europe. Lvs dont define the player, but it just shows to prove just how much playing time takes place in kalimdor compared to northrend. general rule: when theres alot of people contributing alot of hours into playing and exploring the game, comp is generally better.

                    ANyways, having played some crazy ass koreans after I hit the teen level, in my experience, I have to say koreans are still much better. Then again, i havent played in european gateway at all... so I cant comment. But did see couple of match replays. ANyways thats just how i feel.

                    I see it as

                    Asia > Europe >>>>>>>> USWest > USeast.

                      Well the Korean ladder is more active, which yields higher levels. Look through any sites you can find with tourney/league results and you'll see the gap at the top is non-existent. This was certainly true for RoC, and increasingly the case now for TFT now that tourneys dumped RoC.

                      Grubby and Insomnia, and several others, would clearly have to be ranked amongst the very best in the world. They've proven it with consistent even records against the very best Korean players

                        yeah i just editted that statement to explain abit more...

                        More activity usually yields to better comp. So i used as rough explanation, since it isnt always the case. Thats why I see korean community as whole much stronger than Europeans. More activity. And this isnt to discredit the european players. Yes, good european players can go toe to toe with good korean players. I cant argue witht that. I'm not saying they suck at all.

                          Do you know any good site where I can get replays.
                          I hate hunting down for really good replay vids scattered around in lots of different site. There was this really good replays site, but they closed it off to public. :*(

                          Saint clan replays are my favorites!!!11!!!

                            I think as time goes on and more and more Korean players play TFT they may well resume the dominance of SC. It's just so much more of a big deal over there, and easier for players to make a living from gaming. Here it's in its infancy, and the US even worse from what I hear.

                            However, at the moment its more:

                            Asia = Europe > West > East.

                              Well I officially gave up competitive WC3 a few months ago, but I doubt things have changed. I used to visit lots of sites, including:

                              The first is great for Kalimdor replays, and the second is a nice mix. All are top quality. There is also:

                              Mixed quality, but good if you are trying to get replays of a certain player. To break 20 and get ranked I'd recommend picking a player that has your race and style (just with better micro) and watch all their replays you can find.

                                replays.net is the one they closed off.
                                for warcraftreplay.com u need premium access to get all the features on that site.

                                EDIT: nevermind its back up. I too have been away from wc3 too long...
