Nope, worked fine for me. Did you try their boards? The response (as I remember) is usually quick.

Wow... nice graphics in X2... probably no way in HELL I can play it. I guess that is why I bought my X-Box

Re: I need a good deep space game
Have you tried the unknown systems? The ones inhabited by flights of those nomad superfighters?Originally posted by Spiffor
I enjoyed Freelancer greatly for as long as it lasted, but I found it sad the world was so static after the campaign. Once everything had been discovered, once the best ship got equipped with the best weapons, there was no point in playing Freelancer anymore.
I could never find out what to do on that planet inhabited solely by robots.
If you're a B5 fan then http://ifh.firstones.com/ might be of some interest. It developed from the fan-base of the cancelled B5 fighter sim IIRC.
It's still in demo phase but seems to be coming along quite nicely.
Note: I haven't actually tried it. A 200+ Mb dl is just a wee bit much for my system.

I finally had EVNova to work (simply had to update my QuickTime). It's a good game. It's sad there is so little eye candy, but the depth of the game seems to make up for it: the universe looks pretty huge compared to Privateer / Freelancer
And systems have much more personality than in Elite2
Ravagon:
Yep, I've seen it in Freelancer, and basically, these systems offer a good challenge, being against many agressive nomads, and also it offers you the opportunity to collect the best weapons in the game. The robot base or the ape base are just in-jokes, they don't bring anything really."I have been reading up on the universe and have come to the conclusion that the universe is a good thing." -- Dissident

I second that. I played both EV original and EV override on a mac for many many hours. I bought EV Nova when it was done for windows and it's one of my fav. games.Originally posted by quantum_mechani
You could try Escape Velocity: Nova, for a long time it was Mac-only but they now have a windows version. You can find the demo here
HIGHLY recommended.

I can't get EVNova to work here (WinXP). It crashes right after having loaded. Did anybody experience the same problem?
