The P4 and Athlon 64 are clearly superior in these tests, but lets not forget your chips cost about 2 and a half times what mine did.

I just patched my Radeon 9500 to a Radeon 9700, and the result is astonishing:
I jumped from a score of 21,135 to a score of 32,751. And it didn't cost a penny more.

Only thing is drivers, which I'm sure you've checked. Plus my score for PCMark was with a slightly overclocked Radeon to 400/350 or thereabouts, so maybe try that.Originally posted by Spaced Cowboy

I suppose you should also check your BIOS and make sure 8x is enabled, and check the other AGP settings haven't set themselves in a strange manner.Comment

I've got the BIOS set for 8X APG with an arpeture size of 256. Are there APG settings in XP as well that need to be engaged (I found the 8x APG in XP but have found nothing on arpeture size in XP). The thing that bothers me the most is that a column in pc mark says my arpeture size is 0. I still have not look under the hardware tab...maybe it is there and still needs set-upOriginally posted by DrSpike

My mobo comes with a windows APG driver that says to install after the video driver???
(Do they mean XP video drivers, or Ati??)
I did this and I guess I can try reinstalling Cat 4.1 (now they have 4.2) drivers for the 9800.
The only other bios settings that I have for this are the voltage levels (for GPU and mem).We're sorry, the voices in my head are not available at this time. Please try back again soon.Comment

I think that you made a good choice...
Something new and better is always right around the corner, but I think that the Raptors will be competetive for quite sometime, espescially after RAIDed
