  • Mafia 9 - There is a "me" in "murder"

Welcome to the ninth edition of Mafia, which is titled ‘There is a “me” in “murder”’.

In this post I will post some basic information on the game with some additional information specific for this edition.

    Principles of the game
    Time
The Mafia game knows two time periods: Day and Night.
Night is when the Mafia strikes, and Day is when each villager posts one vote for who (s)he thinks the Mafia is. Please remember to put your vote in bold so that I can keep the tally easier. Edit: once voted, one cannot change his/her vote.

    Mafia
There will be two Mafiosi who I will appoint personally via PM. They will alternate in kills with either one having a distinct killing style.
The Mafiosi do not know of each other that they are the Mafiosi, so there is a possibility that one kills the other.

    History of Mafia
Here are the links to all previous editions of Mafia:
    Mafia 1
    Mafia 2
    Mafia 3
    Mafia 4 - Part 1 & Part 2
    Mafia 5
Mafia 6 - The Village of Death
Mafia 7 - Appearances Can Be Deceiving
    Mafia 8 - The Sign of Death - Part 1 & Part 2

    New for this round
    Daytime limit
To keep the game going, there will be a 24 hour timeframe to vote for the Mafia.

    25th villager
I will play as the "25th villager". This means that I will be a character within the village.
However, I am the GM, which means that (1) I cannot be the Mafia, and (2) I cannot vote.

    Good luck!

It was late in the afternoon and Dr. Zopperoni stood at the beginning of Main Street. He had just ordered some extra medicines and supplies at the pharmacy, run by DrSpike. He had a smile on his face, because his day at work was over and it was a beautiful day.

The doctor strolled down Main Street and walked past the various buildings. To his right he saw Father Pave who brought in his shoes for repair by shoemaker Kassiopeia.

Right across the street was blacksmith GhengisFarb. Jonny walked out of the smithy. Jonny was the village mechanic; if something needed to be fixed, Jonny would be the man to do it. As he waived GhengisFarb goodbye, he was almost hit by Vlad Antlerkov. The lumberjack was carrying a lot of wood with him and didn't see Jonny. Vlad apologized to Jonny and quickly made his way to Drogue, the carpenter.

The doctor continued his stroll down Main Street, and passed the shop of village butcher Jamski who was preparing some of the meat he had bought from farmer Spaced Cowboy who lived on his massive ranch right outside of town.

Right next to the butcher was the bakery, owned by the Duke o’ York. He was about to close up his shop and was busy cleaning his machines and oven.

“Hi Doc!”, Hercules said. Hercules was a fisherman and he had just caught a nice trout. He was just about to walk into the shop of CapitanGarlic the green-grocer to pick up some vegetables for dinner.

Speaking of dinner, inn-keeper Guynemer and HongHu the waitress were preparing to receive guests for dinner at the inn. Tables were made ready and the kitchen was fired up to serve hungry villagers.

Outside Frozzy‘s shop stood the village’s police force, sheriff Tassadar and deputy Jon Miller. Frozzy‘s shop sold many objects, and the two policemen were looking for a nice gift to give to their friend Guynemer whose birthday was coming up. They asked Dr. Zopperoni’s opinion on a pen they saw in the shop window. The doctor replied that he thought it was a beautiful pen. The two gentlemen nodded, and went into the shop quickly to buy the pen before continuing their patrol round in the village.

Looking across the street, the doctor noticed that the bank was closed and as he passed the barber shop, he knew why. The banker, MattH, was receiving a haircut by ADG the village barber. He waived to the two men and proceeded.

Another man who worked with precision was the tailor, Alva. At the moment he was working with a customer, none other than the mayor himself, Rah. Dr. Zopperoni entered the shop to have a chat with the mayor. The mayor told him that he needed a new suit quickly for his trip later this week.
The door of the tailor’s opened, and Vovan the mailman entered. He had a package for Alva, which contained fabric he ordered. The doctor said goodbye to the men and left the shop.

The doctor crossed the street to make his way to Skanky Burns’ pub. Spiffor was already in the pub. He was the village journalist, and he was sitting in a corner, pondering on what to write in his next article.
Dr. Zopperoni ordered a nice cup of coffee and went outside to sit on the terrace. The doctor sat quietly, drinking his coffee as evening fell on the village.

I'm a butcher this time? Great, now everyone will think I'm a killer, just because I know how to hack up bodies with a big cleaver.

I was dissapointed by not being my traditional innkeeper, but I GUESS i'll make do as the mayor.

I did like the new suit for a trip later this week.

But I doubt I'll be taking a suit to Vegas.

I hope the mayor doesn't suffer the same quick fate that most of the people in authority have in previous games.

I was trying to figure out the voting instructions to handle my vote while I was out of town Thur, Fri, Sat and Sunday.

I guess it will start with
Keep voting Jamski till dead. (him or me)
                  Any other takers?
