joust was fun. i liked hearing your ostrich, or whatever it was, skid as it tried to slow down.
i think it made a skidding sound.....While there might be a physics engine that applies to the jugs, I doubt that an entire engine was written specifically for the funbags. - Cyclotron - debating the pressing issue of boobies in games.

You fly pterodactyls IIFC. I suck at it, though I saw some dude who could play for hours on a coin.(\__/) 07/07/1937 - Never forget

A buddy of mine was all in a fit for the last two days trying to find (recently released) midway classics arcade (something or other) for his gamecube. He went to/called 10 different stores and we went and picked it up yesterday at lunch. The main thing that he was excited about was Joust..but he is a strange lad.
I remember playing this in the arcade but just could not get into it, at least not as much as with missle command, defender, or asteriods. We're sorry, the voices in my head are not available at this time. Please try back again soon.

Yup - '80s was only time i really played arcade games - it was big thing in college and grad school. once i was out of school never really played them again. I saw a reference to joust on the web and it brought back memories."A person cannot approach the divine by reaching beyond the human. To become human, is what this individual person, has been created for.” Martin Buber

I used to play (and you flew ostriches, UR, not pterydactyls) and was decent - I broke 200,000 a couple of times. There was also the pterydactyl cheat that one could use to get millions of points - I did that once, got as close to the highest score as the game would allow (I think 9,999,999) and then killed all my guys, snagging the top entry on the game for at least a year.
Yeah, Williams Arcade Classics is a must-have for any 80s arcade fan.

I played it hundreds of times
(I had an old atari )
It was a good, though amazingly hard game
And it was really fun with 2 players... or yourself playing as two jousters simultaneously!-->Visit CGN!

You ride on a bird and have a lance. Your objective is to knock the bad guys off by bumping into them while flying higher.(\__/) 07/07/1937 - Never forget
