A new patch always kicks some life into a game.

By the way, I never meant to imply that RON is a bad game, I played the demo and liked it.

I was just trying to determine what makes a game qualify for a forum.

Being a civ game isn't it, or else MOO and galciv wouldn't be here...however I can see hoe the gameplay of those games is similar, so that lead me to believe it just had to be a TBS game in the spirit of civ...

then RON came along, and that stretched that theory even further.

and it most certainly couldn't have anything to do with what game will have the most posters...

I don't mind all these games being here, and I suppose the answer truly is that whatever game the owners want gets in, and that's fine...
While there might be a physics engine that applies to the jugs, I doubt that an entire engine was written specifically for the funbags. - Cyclotron - debating the pressing issue of boobies in games.

        got that right,

C3C made me lose sleep again...can't see why though, it's essentially the same game.

and zero hour for c&c generals made that game come back to life.

                But you're right. I slipped up there, didn't I?

That a game like RON is covered here at Poly, is nothing less than a travesty

Yep. Why is RON here and, say, Empire Earth not? Is it because of BR? Then why won't 'Pirates!' get coverage (when Dinosaurs did)? It just seems like a bunch of contractory decisions (which is why I resigned as News Editor... that and I never did any work ).

Dinosaurs was going to be civ-style... If you can remember It was also going to be turn-based...

By the way, Empire Earth probably should be covered- but remember this APOLYTON was able to beta-test Rise of Nations And that alone justifies it being honored with its own section

RTSs are more alive than TBSs, that's for certain.

Still, the game is well outside our normal scope of interest.

RTSs are just toys. Any serious strategy gamer only plays TBSs.
