  • End of an Era - Eidos, SI Games and Championship Manager

At the end of this month, Eidos and SI Games will release Championship Manager 03/04. It will be the final time these two groups will work together on, IMO, the greatest football game in history. Eidos will keep the name, Championship Manager, and SI will keep everything else. So, the when SI release their next football management game, we won't be saying "Have you got the new Champ Manager," or, "I got Stalybridge all the way to the Premier League in Championship Manager", it'll be a new name, which people won't recognise.

Sad, to tell the truth. The end of the greatest football game as we know it.

You can just say have you got the new [insert SI's new game name here], instead . Soon enough people will realize.

And you can still say have you got Champ Man, it'll just be Eidos' crap.

Championship Manager will now be made by an Eidos Team, not the original SI team.

It'll be interesting to see how many people "fall" for Eidos' crap post-03/04, rather than taking the SI alternative

I'm suprised you didn't know about this yet, Mark. I guess many may be caught in the trap.

                Imran....do you play CM ?

If you do, you must be one of a kind. I can't imagine many Americans playing that game

I was a long time ago now when I first got up teams like Wycombe, Stoke, Hull etc to the top of world football. My girlfriend doen't allow me to install it on her computer as she thinks I would occupy it and the game would take me from her. Probably right, it's still the best game ever after (perhaps) Pirates! and Civilization.

Search for Championship Manager. You'll see plenty of Americans who play the game.

Yes, that forum is a to a text-based AMERICAN football game.

And the SI Games forum has had plenty of American posters.

A rose by any other name would smell just as sweet. Champ Man by any other name will play just as well.
One day Canada will rule the world, and then we'll all be sorry.

CM4 tries to be too realistic and ends up being boring as ****.

I hope the new SI Football Manager sim is better.
