  • Classic game: Conquest of the New world.

I grabed a copy conquest of the new world for 2.99 in town today(I used to own the game back in 96 when it came out). I loved that game. I was wondering if any of you guys knew of any places to download scenarios for the game (I would really like a high quality real North American Map to make my own scenarios on.

    Thanks in advance

    Good game, fun hotseat play.

Whatever happened to the sequel? It's been a long time since I heard anything about it... has it been canceled?

Good game? It would be if it didn't crash all the time.

      Sold it for $5.

Yeah...I remember playing this one a lot. Found the chess-like combat system real hard to master, but it was a fun game nonetheless.

An all time classic. A sequel would indeed go down well, but I don't think there has been talk on one for some time now.

Loved this one as well. Don't think it ever had a map editor, the deluxe edition let you add buildings and such to a generated map and create some rudimentary scripting.

Great graphics circa 1995, the little animations of the building were hilarious.

You seem to always have technical problems. I'm thinking the problem isn't the games, but rather poor hardware...

Or, even more likely, the user.

Great game... spent endless of hours playing this game...

Anyone who knows how to change the mouse-speed settings in the game? The mouse is just way too slow (Taking 30 seconds to get from one part of the screen to the other)...
This space is empty... or is it?

Nevermind... whenever I try to start a new game, it crashes to windows (Just after having generated the map)

Yeah...I know what you mean, ADG. I have been seriously considering hauling one of my old PC's up from the basement.

Then do a DOS 6.22 or Win95 install, and keep this PC only for old games.

Only problem.......space. I am not sure my wife would be too keen on having a third computer in our not too big apartment

Doesn't there exists some Win95 (or earlier) simulation program for this?
I found a program that does this to dos, but it doesn't work with the two games I've got problems running...

Well there's always the Win98/95/3.x/Dos compatibility mode in WinXP. But it doesn't work with all programs.

I have yet to see a program/game which actually works after setting this compatibility mode

Quirky but excellent game. A sequel would be welcome.
