So Michael, you seem to have more years than I have anticipated. I too have 1984 edition of ECO, but I'm a 29 years old single.

    Maybe you got married young

I'm almost 44, so getting to be an old fart. My last tournament playing days were literally half a lifetime ago.

44 years old and still developing software?

That's like playing chess competitively at 64.
(Well, Korchnoi did it, why can't we?)

I quit programming two years ago (thought I was getting to old to compete with all them young punks).

Old age and treachery always overcome youth and skill.

Actually, the young punks know a lot of mostly arcane crap about the latest thing, but the vast majority of them don't know crap about architecture, design, or project management. I figure I can hire code weenies any time. It's the real work that takes talent.

            My kind of philosophy, Michael.

So, am I to understand you are project manager?

I'm too young for such a position. Still, I'm satisfied with the one I have (IT Analyst in the project of computerisation of Serbian Judicial System).

I started my own company a couple of years ago to do industrial software products, so I'm sort of everything. Sounds like you have a pretty decent position.

I plan to start my own company one day. I have a couple of friends that share the same dream, so we'll probably be partners.

And yes, it's good to know a judge or two.

Partners are a very interesting thing, especially when friends. When you get to that point, make sure everyone understands exactly what their roles are, and make sure you document the hell out of everything you do. People always seem to have a tendency to remember all those early discussions differently.

I have to try this one out.
                    I haven't analysed all variations.

Why haven't you moved to US?
Not that I think you should, but just wondering.

All the fun variations seem to have white a move behind.

I actually moved from the US four and a half years ago - things are a lot more relaxed here in Mexico, and the housing costs and state and local taxes in southern California are insane.

I certainly seam to be gaining momentum here.

Michael, did you see my post in our initial thread?
Do we contact the others to set up the second group?

I didn't see that post - I've been off and on all day, between moving my aquarium from my old house to my new one. :tongue dragging:

Damn, that's was a lot of weight to get up the stairs.

I'll look at the thread in a little bit, and set up the second group and let everyone know.

Most of it, anyway. I didn't want to shock the fish by netting them to a holding tank, moving that, then setting up a new water regime in the existing tank and tossing them back in - most of these fish are around 3-4 years old, and all oversized, reference book examples of their species, so I wanted to disturb their environment the least possible.

They got moved in tank with about 20% of their water, while I saved most of the rest in separate containers, but even with 80% of the water and all the filter and related stuff gone, it was about 60-70 kg load.

Good news is they're all alive and showing no signs of stress this morning - and I think I even have all my vertebrae.
