  • where do you buy games?

I used to prefer Electronics Boutique. Their prices are high, but they have good bargain bin selections, and with an old 'puter i liked being able to return (for credit) a game that wouldnt run. Now theyve ended that policy, and their selection has declined as theyve shifted to console games (though the local EB express is better in that regard) I note that Best Buy seems to have a huge selection. Im wondering what other retailers you favor? Also curious if many people buy games on the internet.

While Ive mentioned US retailers, all are welcome to respond, of course.

Best Buy or Gamespot, whichever is cheaper.

I usually get games when they first come out, or a week/two later. The big chains usually offer $10-15 off then (and the price doesn't go down for months after that).

I buy them in regular shops. I don't have a credit card, and frankly I am a bit sceptic to use on-line shops. I get good prices mostly though, as I know a man who is boss in a games and music shop!

I always buy online now. I'll pop into stores if I'm passing, but I don't make a point of it anymore.

I still go to EB. They tend to have things that other stores don't carry and more quickly. You don't get any real deals, but I've found they tend to seal the games in-store here, which makes it easy to be careful when opening them so that if the game is awful/broken, you can return them

Mostly online, though I'll buy one or another in regular stores occasionally. And then there are the... unorthodox places to buy games here... But I only buy them this way if I think the game is too expensive.

If you are going to use 'unorthodox' methods you may as well get the game for free.

A filesharing client. I can think of much better places to download games from, if only I had cable.

On the very rare occasions (once every year or two) that I buy a game, I go to Costco.
