  • You're stuck on an island with only one game.

What game would you take with you? What would be your second choice? and third?
    :-p

    hmm

I'm not really sure about that. I get bored of all games eventually

Even some of my favourite games of all time like Baldur's Gate 2 and Fallout 2 have limited replay value.

    I'm even bored of Civ2.

Although Diablo2 isn't one of my favourite games I still play it. It's the same action, yet for some reason I reinstalled the game.

I'd have to have all 4 games. Without all four games I'd kill myself

Hmm, a tricky question. My most played game is probably civ2, but I dislike it these days. Most of my favourite games are too short to consider taking... so I wouldn't take any game at all. Why waste your time with something you're going to end up hating?

          MP or SP

          -

          Treasure island...Pirates..?
          -
Probably civ3 though, followed by cm4 (looooong, loooong games are needed in such a situation )

            One game?
I'd choose to have Visual Basic with me instead, so I can make my own games...

I need changes, if I only have one game, I'll end up hating that game within a few days
That's the main reason, why I never become very good at a game, I simply don't play the same game enough...

I included Diablo2 on the basis I could play with a high speed satellite connection over battle.net with other people

I would consider Neverwinter Nights multiplayer as well. I've had some good role playing sessions on there. I could roleplay I'm not on a deserted island for a few hours.

As for MP or SP question, Assume you have no internet, but you have modest number of LAN capability in this island with just one game

I can play Marvel VS capcom all day long and never get bored. Game is nearing 3 years old and experts are still finding new combos, move properties etc... same goes with Soul calibur II. If I had a person with me I could play either of those games until the end of the universe, but even without an opponent, I could probably play practice mode all by myself trying to find out combos, strategies and train reflexes, etc for about 700yrs.

My 3rd choice would be Quake I, even though it isnt the most balanced FPS skill game out there. That game had such a division between elitists and casual gamers (because casual player used keyboards and elite players used mouse look) and the way some people mastered quake was just inspiring. If I can play agst a really good opponent, Quake would be just as good.

Quake with TF mod would be better but only if it is assumed that theres enough ppl in the island to make team game viable.
                        :-p

no programming, no changing source code, no modding!

If you choose a mod you must only play that mod. Playing original and mod would count as 2 game. (so HL and CS is 2 different game).

You can still play creatively within the game like I do. For example, I have played FF6 over and over with bizzare rules and settings for myself. and Crowbar war in HL is a popular way to play HL in a creative way that forces you to play the game differently.

So the rule here is only being creative within the given game!
