Then you wouldn't like my opinion of FF8 either
To doubt everything or to believe everything are two equally convenient solutions; both dispense with the necessity of reflection.

I enjoyed FFVI, FFVII and FFVIII very much, but FFVI is best IMO. Great characters, great storyline, funnier gameplay. I've played FFVII with the failed French translation, and as such there were tons of elements in the storyline that were completely confused
FFVIII was great, but still stale in comparison with the two others. Yet, Seifer was waaaaaay cool
I didn't play FFX for more than a few hours, but despite a good experience system, I didn't enjoy it, maybe because it looked so much like a ripoff of FFVIII with more sell-value.

I refuse to play FFX-2, because it looks like a cheap attempt to get money from teenage geeks who rely on videogames to see some skin. 3 playable characters, all feminine chars with little clothing, and a character (I suppose a villain) who looks like a womanly S&M Seifer

That's too bad - I enjoyed it greatly, and the story only got more and more engaging as it went on. Along with Deus Ex and Max Payne, it is one of the few games which I feel progresses into the realm of art, rather than just entertainment.

I've only played three, FF6, FF8 and FF9. Out of those, I liked FF6 the best.

FF6: Good characters. Not having a 'main' character was a nice touch. Decent weapons system and magic system. The plot was pretty good, too.

FF8: Boring teens as characters, I much prefererred Laguna's team, they seemed much more alive. Hideous magic system, and practically non-existant weapons selection. Plot: passable.

FF9: A mixed bag of characters. Reasonable magic system, weapons system not so hot. Not very difficult to complete. Didn't care for the plot.

Still, all three suffered from random monster encounters, the most soul-crushingly tedious, toe-curlingly joyless gameplay mechanic of all time.

I don't like any FF games

Yay, let's play a game that only ever lets me do one thing, fight, and the rest is just one long movie

Strangely enough I do like the Monkey Island games, perhaps becouse they never pretend to be anything but a "movie" kind of game (hmm, actually they allow you to do stuff in a non specific order some times which is more than the FF games does)...

first FF game I played was 6 (1994) and last FF game I played was 6. (less than month ago) So I'm gonna have to say....

                7.

Duh of course not... 6! durr.

I just beat the game without buying/opening chests (rely on monster drops and steal ability to acquire items). and Im really running out of ideas to challenge myself in that game.

Currently putting "Use absolutely no equipment" challenge on hold cause its frustrating.
                :-p

FF7 is the greatest game of all time. I'd say FF Tactics ranks probably third. I have a Tactics Ogre but was a little unimpressed, especially considering the fact that you had to fight close to fifteen battles at the end with no way to restock. I loved FF7's story but I truly liked the magic implementation of the game. I've never played FF6 but from the glowing reviews in this thread I may have to pick it up. Toys r Us has it bundled with Chrono Trigger for fifteen bucks down the street.

FFVII is the best game ever
I will never understand why some people on Apolyton find you so clever. You're predictable, mundane, and a google-whore and the most observant of us all know this. Your battles of "wits" rely on obscurity and whenever you fail to find something sufficiently obscure, like this, you just act like a 5 year old. Congratulations, molly.

FF 7 is the best of the series IMHO.

And add my name to the "I think FF 8 was a god awful disaster of a game" pile.

I hated having to pull summonings and certain spells off bosses. I missed Alexander when I fought the queen because she was kicking my @ss big time and I had to fight just to stay alive. I didn't like magic in that one either. I liked it better than IX, though. I can't even stay focused long enough to beat it and I'm sitting right near the end.

VII is my fav followed by VI. A big part of it was that I had stopped playing games for awhile and the last FF game I had played was IV. So when I played VII, it blew me away.

VII was a close second to 3(USA). I really liked collecting the materia, mostly just because it was so colorful, and the graphics were indeed groundbreaking for the time.

FF7 with 6 thisclose behind - I cried so hard at the end of Disc1 when Aeris died ... I kept expecting her to come back somehow and she never did And the chocobo breeding/racing was -fun-; Materia summons and their effects were _nice_! FF8 might have been more polished looking but 7 had more 'soul' like the older ones

PS Speaking of FF6 - Can I marry Locke? Wait no maybe Setzer he has the k3wl airship...decsions, descisions... ^_^
But there's no sense crying over every mistake. You just keep on trying till you run out of cake.
