      • Well it was Icarus who flew too close to the sun. I don't recall playing it, but I think there was a Nintendo game called Kid Icarus. Would that be it?

        • for Dr Spike (that should be a banana!)

          for RPMisCOOL, our winner

Oh yeah the name of the game was given in the first clue, and Icaurus was the name of your funky ship on the left most screen shot.

It was released in 1988 on Amiga and Atari ST, with PC and MAC ports a bit later.

An excellent oldie game, and still really good to this day

            • Okay, this should be easy.

While playing with your friends, you could exclaim, "Dude, you are a total bonzoid" and be right on the house.

                    • Although I did not know it at the time, started on Atari800 then onto C64 then onto NES, even had IBMPCJr port I think?

I played the C64 version; it was always challenging to end your turn with a drink.

Oh, and we say Dude a lot here in the states.

I only remember one game, where you had to end each level with a drink, but I'm not sure what the game character said during the game...

I don't remember the name of the game, but it was something about some dude on a skateboard (if I remember right), who was rolling on the road, trying to avoid the cars, while taking something from the cars (Cola or something I think)...
This space is empty... or is it?

                          • Sounds like you mean "Skate or Die." That game was way cool, for the time. But, alas, that is not the one that I'm looking for. Keep in mind that I'm giving clues that need to be decoded before they make sense.

                            1. While playing with your friends, you could exclaim, "Dude, you are a total bonzoid" and be right on the house.
                            2. No my little flapper, no!
                            3. Although I did not know it at the time, started on Atari800 then onto C64 then onto NES, even had IBMPCJr port I think?
                            4. I played the C64 version; it was always challenging to end your turn with a drink.
                            5. The 1st turn (of 12) always involved landing on the backward first machine planet.

Well i guess the protracted silence means we haven't got a clue as to what this game is?

More clues or i may have to give up!

                              A 12 turn computer game???!!!

You didn't dream it up in a youthful bout of excess and indulgence one night by any chance?

                              • How about if I decipher the clues for the rest of the folks that also seem to be lost.

                                1. While playing with your friends, you could exclaim, "Dude, you are a total bonzoid" and be right on the house.
(The clues here are "multiplayer, bonzoid, and house").
                                2. No my little flapper, no!
                                (Just the clue, "flapper").
                                3. Although I did not know it at the time, started on Atari800 then onto C64 then onto NES, even had IBMPCJr port I think?
(Just gives the timeframe early '80s and machines thereof).
                                4. I played the C64 version; it was always challenging to end your turn with a drink.
(C64 was the most popular version, ending your turn by getting a drink...in the "pub").
                                5. The 1st turn (of 12) always involved landing on the backward first machine planet.
(Yes 12 long turns, the game was over in a couple of hours. The first machine I mentioned was "Atari", backwards is Irata.)
