Bomb explode in Lambrusco: 2 Nuclear warhead missing

A Large bomb just exploded in Lambrusco, the capital city of the Sicily Island (The southernmost island) in the Kingdom of Wine.

According to various witnesses a truck load with explosives crashed into the Institute of Dismantling of the Nuclear Arsenal of Lambrusco.

The explosion killed the guards who were at the gate of the institute, and severly damaged the building itself, as well as many of the surroinding buildings, one of which collapsed killing 23 civilians.

When the firefighters managed to extinguish the flames and the military forces arrived in the area they discovered that the two nuclear warheads which were being dismantled, as well as one of the scientist working in there were missing.

The scientist, whose name has been kept secret, was later found dead in a motel in the nearby town of Arneis.

According to the Wine autorities some terrorist organization was the author of the operation and they are trying to discover if any link can be founded with the steal of the biological weapon in ceroo.

The Republic of Guardinia is shocked and appalled at this new turn of events. A naval task force currently conducting routine exercises northeast of Sheepsta can be sent to assist the Kingdom of Wine in controlling its coastal waters if such assistance is needed. It would take us several days to get the entire task force into position for a proper screening operation, but there is an aircraft carrier with the task force, so long range air patrols could begin within 3 to 4 hours. Also, we are prepared to send elements of the Guardinian Rapid Deployment Force to assist in any way possible (they can be in the air within 4 to 6 hours), and the Guardinian Intelligence Agency (GIA) is ready to share its intelligence assets in order to help track down the missing warheads. Finally, we hope that King Giovanni will let us know if there is anything else we can do!

Flights from the Lambrusco International Airport are now starting up again, although the very strict security (all baggages are checked manually and electronically) does not permit for more than 20 flights a day, mostly to the other Winian airports, where the bagagges are checked a second time, and all people in the airplane are scheduled and checked by our agents.

The bombing of the IDNA in Lambrusco could have many links with the stolen biological weapon in Ceroo. The author were almost surely helped by someone inside the IDNA as well, as they knew that two Nuclear Warheads were in the Institute, and they knew were to hit in order to not make the two warheads explode.

The truck that exploded was property of the Wine Petrol Corporation, and was reported missing since 2 weeks ago. As expected we found a body of a man, completely burned, near the truckbomb, this strenghten the hipotesys of a terrorist attack from a fanatical group, and strenghten the theory of it being connected to the Ceroo's ones.

The body of the man have been sent to the Scientific to see if it is possible to identify it.

Akiria offers its condolences to the families and friends of those involved, as well as the Wine nation. Akiria is also worried about the possibility of Nuclear fallout from such an act.

I have also been asked to speak for President Dryad of Zetaris. He has authorised me to inform Giovanni that Zetaris, due to its close proximity to Wine, is able to help in any way it can. If you need people to be under protection, President Dryad has offered his own personal bodyguard of Akis. If there is anything that either Akiria or Zetaris can do, be it military, financial or humanitarian aid that is needed, do not hesitate to ask.

Moreover, once she has returned from The Free Republic of Arctania, where she is helping to set up an international zoo, the esteemed environmentalist Lady Deirdre will be able to help contain any nuclear issues, and also help with the missing biological weapon. Investigations are still going on, according to the latest reports the authors of this crime are all Wine citizens, that would explain their knowledge of the territory, and how they managed to hide with 2 nuclear warheads locked in an island. But it still does not explain the reasons for their acts, or if they are working for someone or something.

In the meanwhile all across the Kingdom of Wine, as per an order by King Giovanni himself, tests were done so to prepare the population to a possible Nuclear attack, most people still ignored the fact that two Nuclear Warheads of 8 Kilotons Each (roughly twice the size of the A-Bomb launched in Hiroshima) were missing, and they thought that this tests were nothing of importance.

The Minister of the Internal together with Admiral Jacopo Marino, commander in chief of all the Wine's Naval Forces, were planning the possibilities of an evacuation plan for all Sicily Island in case of a Nuclea emergency.

Akis (Akirian special forces, see military thread for details) working in Zetaris, have found uncovered a small terrorist 'cell', which may have links to the attacks on Wine. All members are being detained, and have confessed to handling illegal weaponry, including a crude but relatively powerful explosive. However, we are satisfied that they are not directly responsible for the bombing in Lambrusco.

These men, whom are between 4 and 10 in number, are mostly of Athkalan decent, although their citizenship is unknown as of yet. They all hold fake Zetarian and Winian passports, and are part of a weapons smuggling team, taking Athkalian weapons into Wine and neighbouring countries. As such, they will be deported to Wine for legal proceedings.

When asked about the involvement of Akirian intelligence agents in Wine and Zetaris, Drogue declined to comment, stating that if there are any agents in other nations, that is anissue of national secrecy.

There seems to be a growing number of fundamentalists operating in the region now.

Ceroo would like to request the assistance of New Sheepsta. Would the government there have any access to any of the old Empire's records? In particular did they know of, sympathise with, or even fund any such groups?

Three Athkalan Citizens convicted of illegal arm saling
The Dolcetto Court convicted today 7 out of the 10 Athkalan citizens handed to us by Akirian authorities for the crimes of illegal arms saling, The seven men have confessed the saling of large explosives to some of their "buddies" in Sicily Island, as well as in mainland Wine, no proof have been founded that they could be linked to the Lambrusco bombing, Wine authorities have declared that this people are just small fish, and that there is a bigger organization backing them.
Wine has formally requested Athkala assistance in the dismantling of said organization, seeming that most of this terrorist are originary from that nation.
However it is still unknown to us why there is such a big military presence now in Sicily, or if something was lost in the attack, but given the big mobilization and the secrecy involved, it would seem that there is more than just a truck-bomb attack.
