About 30 years ago, a large convoy of ships left the port of Aurora, the Capital of Akiria, and set sail eastwards, initially.
The convoy, 6 ships in total, 3 large hulled transports, led and flanked by 3 Akirian Battlecruisers, was not particularly large by Apolyton standards, but represented a considerable investment for those involved. They were embarking on a new life, away from the hustle and bustle of the largest city they knew, which was straining under the pressure of continued population growth, to a lush and prosperous land to the South. Many notables were on these 3 ships, with the desire to enact their Utopia, their ideal nation. They realised that most such ideas fail because of safety concerns, trying to live alone on a lush land inevitably causes envy, and those that wish it, to take that Utopia away. Therefore, the leader of this expedition, Yoshimi Dryad, enlisted the help of the Akirian Armed Forces, to ensure their safety. This was gladly and swiftly agreed to.
Once the convoy passed Nuclearia, it was out of Apolyton. While this held more dangers than the South-Westerly route, it was also much faster, and with the backing of the Akirian Navy, the travellers felt it was worth it. Soon after passing Nuclearia, where the convoy was restocked and given shore leave to enjoy the many pleasures Nuclearis Winterius has put on for them, the convoy changed course, and headed South. This previously unexplored area was the hardest part of the entire voyage, but with the Akirian Sat. Nav. system at their disposal, it was traversed, and within days, The Kingdom of Wine was reached. Giovanni, a long-time ally and friend of Drogue, and leader of the people of Wine, was welcoming, and preceeded to show the travellers his beautiful nation. So very different to the cold, lush green plains, mountains and rivers of Akiria, Wine was a quite a sight for the travellers, who marvelled at the wonders they saw. Wine is much warmer than the climate they came from, but its beauty was seen by all. More importantly, arriving at Wine meant they had but a day or two's travel left. Although, they didn't know that.
The initial aim was to reach the Southern Apolytonian Archipelago (nation's 41-49 on the map), however, due to the Sheepstan War, and Akirian desire to keep its forces out of the firing line, to prevent an incident, Yoshimi Dryad was asked by Drogue to land on a nearer group of islands. Wanting to remain friendly with Akiria, this was agreed to, and the ships landed, a little roughly, on what is know known as Zetaris (nation 39). And thus, a nation was born.
[transmission from Yoshimi Dryad on Zetaris]
Many people see Zetaris as part of Akiria, under the same leadership. I assure you that this is not the case. Zetaris is a seperate nation, founded by an Akirian, and udner their protection, but self-governing. It now has 20 Million inhabitants, is a Left-Leaning College State, and is growing nicely. Zetaris has slightly different aims and ideals to Akiria. While we still agree with their committment to the Environment, we have a less utilitarian, and more liberal outlook. While we have the same currency, that is purely to aid trade between our two nations. When we landed on this island, we found a large natural population of Silver Dragons, which is being preserved. It is a beautiful species, and although its eggs are much coveted by nearby nations, will remain protected and prosperous here. Zetaris also helps to keep Akiria informed as to the rebuilding of Sheepsta, and the tensions in the region, due to its proximity. However, we are seperate nations, and have different opinions. Akiria has no formal power over Zetaris, and Akirians do not vote in Zetaris' election.
I hope this clears it up somewhat. I will be able to go into mroe detail on parts if asked.

And so another chapter in Apolyton history has begun. We wish Zetaris the best of luck, and hope that it becomes and stays the Utopia it was designed to be.
