    UN Category: Anarchy
    Civil Rights: World Benchmark
    Economy: Thriving
    Political Freedoms: Superb

The Free Republic of Dissidents is a enormous, economically powerful nation, remarkable for its barren, inhospitable landscape. Its hard-nosed, hard-working, intelligent population of 245 million live in a state of perpetual fear, as a complete breakdown of social order has led to the rise of order through biker gangs.

There is no government in the normal sense the word; however, a small group of community-minded, liberal, pro-business individuals devotes most of its attentions to Education, with areas such as Healthcare and Defence receiving almost no funds by comparison. Income tax is unheard of. A powerhouse of a private sector is led by the Automobile Manufacturing industry, followed by Book Publishing and Uranium Mining.

Military funding has been stripped back, punitive tariffs protect local industry, the streets are increasingly clogged with poverty-stricken beggars, and organ donation rates are among the lowest in the region. Crime is a serious problem, and the police force struggles against a lack of funding and a high mortality rate. Dissidents's national animal is the Wolf, which teeters on the brink of extinction due to widespread deforestation, and its currency is the dollar.

I was doing fine, but I decided to go extreme libertarian to see what would happen - I think I'm going to bump it back pretty soon though.

              Here's the funny part -

The Holy Empire of Alvis is a very large, socially progressive nation, renowned for its complete absence of social welfare. Its hard-nosed, hard-working population of 162 million are either ruled by a small, efficient government or a conglomerate of multinational corporations; it's difficult to tell which.

The small, pro-business government juggles the competing demands of Education, Law & Order, and Defence. Citizens pay a flat income tax of 3%. A large private sector is led by the Beef-Based Agriculture industry, followed by Book Publishing and Soda Sales.

The alarmingly racist TV show 'Bigtopians Say the Darndest Things' is a hit, corporations donate huge sums of money to favored politicians, euthanasia is legal, and the streets are increasingly clogged with poverty-stricken beggars. Crime is a serious problem. Alvis's national animal is the Buffalo, which is also the nation's favorite main course, and its currency is the Booze.
See! In a capitalist society people don't HAVE to be poor.

After the first week I became much more judicious with the Dismiss Issue option. They present wo or three options that are opposites sometimes and it seems stupid. BTW, has anyone abolished elections? What does it do (other than make it an out and out dictatorship)?
I never know their names, But i smile just the same
              New faces...Strange places,
Most everything i see, Becomes a blur to me

                  The Democratic States of Admaria
                  "Forever Federalism"

UN Category: New York Times Democracy
                  Civil Rights: Excellent
                  Economy: Developing
                  Political Freedoms: Excessive

                  Location: Apolyton

The Democratic States of Admaria is a enormous, safe nation, renowned for its absence of drug laws. Its compassionate, hard-working, intelligent population of 266 million enjoy a sensible mix of personal and economic freedoms, while the political process is open and the people's right to vote held sacrosanct.

The small, corrupt government juggles the competing demands of Education, Social Equality, and the Environment. The average income tax rate is 19%, but much higher for the wealthy. A small private sector is dominated by the Gambling industry.

Corporations donate huge sums of money to favored politicians, citizens can be frequently spotted going about their business stark naked, a large-scale revitalization of the education system is underway, and genetic researchers have been expelled. Crime is totally unknown. Admaria's national animal is the peregrine falcon, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests, and its currency is the federal note.
I'm somewhat upset that my government is now "corrupt" for allowing corporations to donate money to policymakers, but it's a necessary step in the regrowth of the economy.

hahaha no money to politicians and I'm still thriving... I just dismiss that issue because it demoted my economy from powerhouse to thriving!
To us, it is the BEAST.

Definitely a very pro-capitalism assumption in there somewhere.

Well, if your economy was largely dependant on private enterprise, and you then proceed to outlaw it, that's not going to do a whole lot of immediate good.

Anyway, I'm currently trying to extract my nation from Anarchy, it having gone into it when I legalized child gambling.

My economy actually depended only very slightly on private enterprises.

My economy sucks, my currency is edible, I have some of the nicest, most compassionate people in Apolyton, the environment in my country is superb, but because of one stupid decision I made my civil rights can't get any higher than 'superb'.
