    Island Games

    It was dark as the rafts hit the beach. The submarine had surfaced only 20 minutes ago and the Marines had inflated their rafts i nrecord time and launched out with precision timing.
    Seargeant PEterson was first ashore and he led his group down the beach towards the docks in complete silence. It took approximatley 45 minutes to place the charges in place and only 4 guards were found and "silenced".
    Peterson returned to the beach and met with the other 4 group leaders who had achieved similar mission results in different parts of town. Total casualties 14 rebel guards, no injuries on their teams.
    They entered the water in their rafts and slipped into the night and met up with the sub before heading home.


    The next day reports of major destruction in the town of Awawnii reached the world news. It was put down to actions of the Gurellias from up in the hills. they had been fighting for nealry 5 years now.

    Back in Rasputopia the Inteligence officer read the reports.

    Total destruction of Awawniis major port. The airport was rendered useless. The Palace had been engulfed in flames. Total casualties was listed as in the thousands. but the only interesting casualties on the list for the Intelligence offcier was the confirmed deaths of 8 Awawnii leaders.

    He shredded the reports and tpyed up a new one listing the details very differently. He wrote Awawnii city attacked by Gurellias, casulaties low. He released the new report to the media station and then headed back to bed.

    The following week further raids were carried out across the islands. In all over 35 missions were completed against citys involved in the islands wars.

    The Rasputopian Goverment also decreed that they would supply aid to the opprossed islanders. Medical and food supplied would be shipped in.

      Angus Fletcher looked through his binoculars. He could see the plane approaching the ready made landing strip. The aid from Rasputopia would help his villagers. The latest rebel attacks had burned out most of the farms and food was very short.

      The plane landed at the far end of the field and began taxiing down towards Angus and his trucks. As the plane approached him Angus heard gunfire from the jungle to the North. His helpers were mercilessly cut down and the plane was riddled with bullets. The five soldiers on board the plane to protect the helpers jumped out and returned fire but they were vastly outnumberered.

      Back in Rasputopia the radio silence from the flight was a numbing sound. The officer in charge typed up his report and sent it to the top "EYES ONLY" marked on it.

      The following day the Prime Minsiter addressed the nation and informed them that aid supplies to the islands would be halted till a ceasefire could be organised.

        Up in the hills three helicopters flew low over the tree tops. They had flown from the Carrier located offshore during th enight and were headed to a new base camp set up on the top of the ranges. As they approcahed the camp a beacon was lit up to show the landing area. "Advisors" from Rasputopia exited the helicopters and brought with them some much needed "supplies". Training would commence tomorrow with the new gear.

            In the quiet of night the newly Trained Operatives begun their campaign to regain control of their island for the people.

            Small co ordinated attacks sprung up across all parts of the island. Skirmishes lasted for several hours as the Forces of the Government tried to repress the uprising.

            It was small steps but most battles were won, but this was going to be a long war.

            By the end of 2 months the trickle of supplies had grown to a flood almost as training increased and upgraded ammunitions were supplied from various sources.

                The Government of the islands ordered the ful lextermination of all Rebels. Carpet Bombing was ordered. Villages across the island nation were bombed night and day. Government forces entered the vialges after the mass bombings and the only word for what hapened next was GENOCIDE.
