  • Proposal: Apolytonian Nations Assembly

I believe some time ago an idea was mentioned for an in-region equivalent of the United Nations Assembly, where issues and disputes could be discussed in a free-form manner. So, I'm mentioning it again. I would be glad to organize the thing if someone watches to make sure I don't make any stupid mistakes.

Guardinia supports the idea and officially offers to contribute in any way we can.

If I can only get around to posting it, that is...

Thanks for the vote of confidence though there is only one reply so far. Basically I'm imagining something very simple, basically like the U.N. General Assembly but less formal. Members can address the assembly at any time, and you can reply any time (I know first-hand how hard it can be to post regularly at times), up until a vote is taken. Once it gets up and running, we can even form committees like a Security Council or a Human Rights Council.

Since we don't have too many regular posters right now, I could assume control of some of the placeholder nations as NPCs (like Baldur's Gate II but hopefully with a little more hint of what the hell is going on) by assigning them personalities, government types, and domestic and international issues which would influence their stance towards the assembly and to discussions.

Jonchastan is in favour of the proposal, but not so keen on adding NPCs.

They're not a core demand. I just threw the idea out considering that everyone seems to be, well, dead.

Well, it sounds like a good idea, and I think I can live with NPCs. NCC Pavesia will help by any means if needed.

Thanks for the replies, friends. I would be very tempted to just get up and running, like posting a General Assembly thread. Do you think that would be the way to go, or is a little more caution needed? Also, if you have any suggestions for rules of engagement and of debate, just shout them out.

The glorious Marijuanian junta disapproves and releases an official statement declaring that the measure of a nations manhood should be its capacity to enforce its will upon others by force... the primary and fundamental language of political dillydallying and not by the evils of international cooperation and inferior firepower!
