No, it's not required, it's just a good idea. It gives the region a (slightly) bigger voice at the UN, and allows for the ejection of disruptive nations and such.Comment

Yes this region is founder free and so is Alberta and makes them more politically free than other regions. Sorry but I let the last active ones in CI know before i killed CI.

As for becoming founder-free - I assume the mods did it. A lot of nations made complaints after we were booted, and a few days later, Kifatica had been stripped of Founder status while remaining in the region. If something similar has happened to you, I suggest you go to the mods. As you said, they don't like such behaviour. At all.
