So, who's up for a footy tournament?
UAFA (Union of Apolytonian Football Assocations) have announced that a football (soccer for you Americans) tournament is to be held this summer. With all the troubles in certain areas of the world, this is expected to be a welcome diversion for the people.
Ceroo was quick to act by submitting it's bid to host the tournament citing that the recent resurgence in football, which now attracts more media coverage than rugby, will draw record crowds. However, it is expected that other nations will submit bids, and Ceroo's likely rivals include the highly skillful [Brazilian-esque] footballing nation of Karakas.
Recommeded bid process:
At least six stadia would be required to realistically manage a 16-team tournament-
Get total stadia capacity by:
Economy Rating multiply population in billions multiply by 10000
(e*p)*10000
So in Ceroo's case
=(9*2.992)*10000
=(26.928)*10000
=269,280
Ecomonic Ratings:
Frightening = 10
All-Consuming = 9
Powerhouse = 9
Thriving = 8
Very Strong = 8
Strong = 8
Good = 7
Fair = 7
Reasonable = 6
Developing = 6
Struggling = 5
Weak = 5
Fragile = 4
Basket Case = 4
Imploded = 3
*An upper-limit on capacity would create a sense of realism and stop bids of "ten uber-stadiums with 250,000 capacity", while allowing richer countries to afford more larger stadia (RL: England or Italy) but still allowing poorer countries large stadia (just less of them, RL: Morocco or Iran).
This is just a suggestion on bid mechanics, feel free to comment, or better still, submit a bid- if we get more than one by, say Sunday, it can go to a poll.

Ceroo's bid:
Ceroo is situated to the south-west of the main arm of the Apolyton continent and close to the centre of the region. It is a highly modernised nation, boasting excellent transport links- whether you are travelling by sea, aeroplane, train or car (the main islands are linked to each other and the mainland by Ceroostar trainlinks [RL: Eurostar] ). The people are warm and friendly and have recently rediscovered their love of football, with the domestic league gaining record attendances in the past season.
Stadia to host matches:
Stadio de Ceroo, Ceroo City Capacity:85,000
(will host the final)
The Millennium Stadium, Sarali Capacity:73,000 (has retractable roof)
Stadio Atlantis, Atlanya Capacity:54,000
Estadio San Antoni, San Antonio Bay Capacity:44,500
Newport Stadium, Newport Capacity:20,500
Riverside Stadium, Shoalvik Capacity:35,000
The Moss Rose Stadium, Macclesi (near Insus) Capacity:17,500
Stadio Giles Sports, Heatara Capacity:19,500
(Stadia from Vais'e, Caer Ceroo and Kimmi are also available, but are left out of the initial bid to accomodate two stadia from San Antonio Bay)
All stadia are 'all-seaters' and meet UAFA safety requirements.
We hope the above meets your approval and would be happy to accept your vote! See you in Ceroo 04!
