  • Crisis within Basus cabinet of ministers

    Basus's weakly cabinet meeting

Lady Elisabeth Grey (lady Protector of Basus / Minister of defence

Dear collegues, I have waited long enough. I stated my opinion on several occasions but it went unheard. Even my own safety advisor is undermining my authority ! I'M THE LADY PROTECTOR and it is MY obligation to keep Basus safe. Lately it seems that other ministers and certain advisors, like mr van Schilfgaarde, seem to know better then me how to run Basus defences. This has got to stop !!! Our nation is corrupted by power hungry officials therefor i call upon the right of "ontbinding" that is inherent to the protector and disolve the cabinet. If the lords and ladies of parlement are as wise and honourable as i think they are, then the will announce new elections. This will make way for a new and honest cabinet to lead Basus to a better future. They will know how to handle this political and military waspnest called Azan.I hereby i nominate myself for the post of High Chancellor.

*A long silence followed by loud voices. A great excitement takes control of the room. The high Chancellor rises*

High Chancellor Alexander van Eerden Biswijck

Silence ! We all heard what the lady protector had to say. It is her right to disolve the Cabinet, alltough i regret her doing so. New elections will be held in two days if parlement doesn't object.
This is the first time since many years that a cabinet has fallen and i hope this will prove to be an isolated incident. The "wasp nest" Azan seems to have awakend a lot of emotion. Let us hope that these emotions are limited to Basus's politics and that they won't spread to other nations.
Let us continue this meeting as provisional government of Basus.

              True...
Socialists are softer have a sweeter taste, but are much more fattening than communists, unless you trim them first.
Also, communists go better with a dark red, preferrably a particularly dry one.

It's true my socialist populus is lavished with the finest of spices and the best of wines. It is nice that you recognise our good taste.

Furthermore we would like to point out that our prosperous nation has a strong economy and is not entirely soft

How do you account for the trimming?

Seriously, any economy less than 'Frightening' leaves a lot to be desired.
To have a good economy, you at least need 'Powerhouse' if you're a relatively new nation.

                    Trimming? i don't understand.

Our economy is more then capable to let all inhabitants live comfortable lifes and there is enough money to spend on research and there is even money left to help other nations. We don't need anything more

                        Outcome of the elections :

                        BSP (45/150)
                        BEP (20/150)
                        BLP (17/150)
                        BDP (40/150)
                        BRP (9 /150)
                        Small parties (19/150)

The recent global developments have made the bassians flock together. The more esteblished parties have increased in numbers.

A BSP BEP and BDP coalition is going to run the nation. This coalition has a sturdy foundation (105 seats).
The BSP and BEP wanted to continue their former coalition but needed a few extra seats. The unexpected growth of the BDP showed that Basus wanted more democracy so this party became the third coalition partner.

Lady Elisabeth Grey has won the elections for the high chancellorship.

Lets hope basus's new government will reign long and prosperous

The Jonchastan Central Committee commends Basus on its successful exercise in democracy. We hope to continue working closely with the new coalition as we did with the old.

                              To Auldonina:

A trade agrement would be a nice step to bring our nations closer together but because of your irratic military politics we see no other option then to decline your friendly offer. Our young and virgin coalition cannot risk losing it's just aquired trust. When we have firmly established ourselfs we will review the situation and take a new dissicion. We hope you are patient and understanding with our situation. For our first goal is bring stability to our own nation and to that of our allies. We wouldn't like to complicate the situation. But in the future there will be room for futher negotiations.

                              With regard,

                              Lady Elisabeth Grey, High Chancellor
