They are well fed however as im the healthiest in apolyton, goes with all the physical training and extensive research into chemical and biological areas for errmm yeah health stuff
Also i have no social support, there is a job for everyone should they wish it.

Because thats the average poor citizen. Besides look at the USA's average IQ, it's outclassed by quite a few other countries but it has the advantage of being able to pay those at the top well, hence attracting the best.

You're aware that education levels can differ, right? Even if his soldiers are illiterate, they may still know how to operate absic equipment, and those who have to use more specialized stuff would get special training.

Agreed. "Education" might mean knowing how to assemble and disassemble a rifle, but not necessarily correspond to literacy.

In a very abstract way, it's like street smarts vs. book smarts.

Military Strengths:
Large, powerful, hi-tech navy. Ceroo's Dreadnought-class ships are considered the pinnacle of naval warships by Cerooan sailors.
Reasonably-modern airforce; Vertical take-off aircraft (Harriers)
Capable of deploying Tomahawk cruise missiles, as well as lower-yield (but less accurate) cruise missiles that are much cheaper from the majority of military vessels.
Well-trained marines and special forces.

Military Weaknesses:
Comparatively small infantry army. Heavy armour/tanks easily outnumbered by similar-sized nations.
Navy has not suffered any major losses for thousands of years, their belief in their superiority may be exploited by a clever foe
Airforce funding has only been picked up in the last decade, could potentially be outnumbered. Very few bomber-type aircraft, airforce is mainly fighters as it was built mainly for defence rather than offence.
Structure of the military is outdated, and it still retains the titles and customs of the old Empire. The Imperial Naval Command controls all branches of the military (navy, army and airforce) so there is bias towards the navy.

Basus's army has only one single purpose. The defence of Basus. In recent years this single goal is expanded with some extra's like resque branches and small specialists attack groups.

Basus has is focussed on the skies. We have a very larges airforce. Main aircraft is the fighter but most fighters are adapted also for other purposes like bomming etc.

Our navy is our second focus. It's submissive to the airforce so we have carriers and the rest is defence for the carriers and harbour etc.

We also have a small infantery corps. Highly specialist in the defence of basus and trained to assist with natural disasters.

We are weak in a direct confrontation that is not on basus soil except in the air

I should do mine in more detail, so here goes.

Karakas' soldiers fight hard and with devotion - but their training is not of a standard that would be considered acceptable in the top military powers. They can also lose their discipline at times (see the episode with Manuel at the checkpoint in the war thread).

During the cold war with Kyralia, the army, navy, and air force were set up with the intention of fighting Kyralia. That means ships and heavy bombers suitable for offense just offshore, and marine landing and commando combat training for the infantry. As a result, that kind of capability is strong, but mobile combat skills edit: and naval power projection, are lacking. (This might be important against all the Hive tanks in Azan.)

More elaboration of Frankychanland military (I guess)

Summary-

Frankychanland military is basic pyramid style. At the bottom is the most numerous troops. Conscripted and low trained/equipped. The higher you go up the pyramid, the better trained and equipped the troops are, but with very few numbers.

Strengths-

Numbers. Lots of soldiers, tanks, choppers. Additonally, police and security duties. FCL maintains a police state. Military is trained in policing the populace and squashing rebellion and/or rioting....for the most part.

Ground forces: Lots of troops (conscripts). Lots of tanks (dated, but still functional).

Air Force: Less than 100 fighter jets. (Mig-style). Less than 10 Bombers. Many more choppers. Air force is mostly made up of assault choppers.

Navy: Mostly comprised of coastal patrol boats. 1 battlecruiser (FCL naval flagship). Mostly comprised of subs.


Frankychanland defense is mostly auxiliaries, with various military complexes dotting the territory. Frankychanland's reputation is that if any nation was to invade it, it would be a Pyrrhic victory.

Weakness-

Technology. Basic 5:1 ratio. One highly trained soldier with proper equipment equals 10 FCL soldiers. Likewise for tanks. Navy is less, 3:1 ratio.

Against high technology nations with good SpecOps, Frankychanland usually loses in military campaigns. SpecOps done in FCL territory is extremely difficult to accomplish and once done, probably wouldn't happen again in the same manner. Barcoding helps prevent most terrorist attacks, but aren't impossible.
