OOC : ok i see your point, provided he doesnt role play his (if any occur) attacks on my units based on his analysis....
in fact based on his postings any time his troops meet mine, mine would be mroe likely to win now based o nthe fact he teaches his troops how pitiful we are and cant fight in urban centres or in some small numbers...GM of MAFIA #40 ,#41, #43, #45,#47,#49-#51,#53-#58,#61,#68,#70, #71

President Brooke sends memo to Leader of the Guardinians Browse Apolyton AD-FREE
My Dear Fellow National LEader,
It is with great concern that I hear through my many channels of information, that your great nation is concerned of the palcement of my troops in a neighbouring province to your own.
We the Auldoninian people wish to openly state that at no stage have any of our targets been in your nation, nor has that stance changed. We ahve bigger fish to fry than to take on a peaceful and friendly nation such as yourself.
Whilst we can not at this stage reveal to you our full plans in the international arena, we can promise, that unless you fire the first shot, we shall not ever invade your territory nor fly missions over your territory, (without your permision).
I offer now to you an Olive Branch of peace. Whilst I understand due to pur political differneces we can not be allied, I trust this document offering peace and neutrality towards each other is sufficient to render your stress less.
You may deem that to make peace we should remove our forces from Western Apolyton, I am sorry to say that can not happen due to our afore mentioned international plans.
Please accept this agreement as it has the full support of not only my self , but also all members of the Auldonina Parliament, in a bipartisan agreement.
Signed
President Brooke

OOC: Well, your offer was posted after midninght my time, while I was fast asleep. I'm sorry, but I wasn't aware that not waking up in the middle of the night to answer would constitute rejecting the offer.
Now I'm at work and I have to do other stuff in between posting, so even though you see a yellow light bulb next to my name, I might not always be able to answer within the hour.
You will have your answer - in due course. I suggest you wait and see what it will be before jumping to conclusions.
Oh, and by the way, I'm okay with Sally playing and I don't mind you two being allied.
IC, Guardinia feels that Western Apolyton must have either misunderstood Guardinia's position or been deliberately misinformed by someone, but that's a different story...Last edited by Guardian; May 7, 2004, 04:08."Politics is to say you are going to do one thing while you're actually planning to do someting else - and then you do neither."

"Kyralian army units on alert for Azan? Are you sure?"
"Well, why not?"
"Training standards, equipment standards, tactical standards . . ."
"They're our soldiers now, Dave. The 5th Mechanized Infantry will be going with them, if they end up going. They'll watch their flanks. And besides, no-one fights harder than a Kyralian. Ever heard of Mount Mortar?"
"I have not."
"Remind me to tell you some time . . ."Everything changes, but nothing is truly lost.

Inside a village, somewhere in Frankychanland occupied Azan.
The rag-tag band came upon the stable, where three men came out to greet them. "Mr Mark Brewer, I presume," said the front man, his face hid in the shadows of his hat.
"That's right, that's me. So what do you got there?"
"I am Vincent Grey," the front man said as he motioned toward a lorry, parked next to the stable.
Brewer and his man laughed. "We've got tons of small arms."
Vincent Grey motione by tilting his head, "This way, if you please." He then walked back into the stable, with the two other men following him.
Brewer hesistated. "Okay, Stump and Greg follow me. The rest of you stay out here."
Inside the stable, Grey was already waiting. "Here," as he flipped over a canvas sitting on the floor.
Brewer's jaw dropped. "The Viper?"
"Yes, the Viper, an advanced man portable SAM that can easily knock down low flying aircrafts and attack helos. Top speed well exceeds Mach 3."
Brewer's face glowed, "Jesus..."
"There are a total of 12 launchers including this one, plus six dozen missiles," Grey tossed a set of keys to Mark, who caught it absentmindedly, "All yours." He then walked out the back wall, which had been ripped open previously. His men left behind him.
Stump shook Brewer. "Hey Mark, they're gone."(\__/) 07/07/1937 - Never forget

The Government of Western Apolyton :
To All Nations
We are pleased to have the People of Auldoninna in our nation. Yes we rejected Ceroo and Guardina responses, due mainly to their lack of belief in any terrorist camps in our nation that we needed to deal with. Once they openly expressed disbeleif that they existed we had no choice but to open our doors to a nation that has shown it is not afraid to stand upto terrorism and refuse to supply terrorists with arms as some have done.
We are a free nation and we are free to have whomsoever we choose to be our Hero
From the Free People of Western Apolyton.
Guardinia acknowledges the people of Western Apolyton's right to choose their own allies, although we admit to being disappointed by the fact that it appears they never seriously considered our offer. The government of Western Apolyton appears to have misunderstood our position, and we feel it is most unfortunate that we were never given any chance to clarify such misunderstandings. This is not the way peaceful relations between neighbours are made.
As previously stated, Auldoninnan bases in Western Apolyton are seen as a threat to Guardinia, and in response we are increasing security along our shared border, including deployment of military forces and increased surveillance and air patrols.
Hopefully, that's as far as this goes.
We wish all the best for the Free People of Western Apolyton, but we certainly hope that their government will talk to us next time before jumping to conclusions and making decisions that could jeopardize relations between us.
With kind regards
-Sean Baldwin, Minister of Foreign Affairs

Guardinia's official response:
Dear Mr. President,
On behalf of the Guardinian people, I thank you for your letter. I can confirm that the recent deployment of Auldoninna troops in Western Apolyton has been a source of concern amongst our people and that we have been compelled to respond accordingly - by increasing our own military readyness in the border region.
We gratefully accept your peace offering, but I am afraid we can not lower our defenses as long as we do not know your intentions. However, I can assure you that we will not fire the first shot. Hopefully, this means that our nations will not have a problem with each other.
Be advised, however, that any deliberate attack on Guardinia's allies or innocent third party personnel would be considered an attack on Guardinia, in which case our agreement would be null and void and a state of war would exist between our nations.
Based on your letter, we trust it will not come to that.
Have a nice day.
With regards,
-Blake Fowler, President of Guardinia
[OOC: As you can see, the Guardinians are kind of pissed, but they're not going to take it any further for now. The letter from Auldoninna's president did help, although it was not enough. (Remember, we do not trust him.) Things could get better from here on... we'll just have to see what happens next...
Oh, and by the way, I'll be busy for pretty much the rest of today and I'm going away for the entire weekend, so I probably won't be reading or posting much more until monday some time. Just so you all know about it. Have a nice weeked! ]Last edited by Guardian; May 7, 2004, 07:36."Politics is to say you are going to do one thing while you're actually planning to do someting else - and then you do neither."

OOC: quite right. My analysis is based on observations and intelligence collected about Auldoninnan troops. So far, they don't appear to perform well, esp when under pressure.

The loss of 20 soldiers in last weeks investigations of local vilalgers meant no more would Auldonina ask questions first. It was shoot or be shot.
