The People's Republic of Azan is a very large, socially progressive nation, remarkable for its strong anti-business politics. Its quiet, industrious population of 56 million are fiercely patriotic and enjoy great social equality; they tend to view other, more capitalist countries as somewhat immoral and corrupt.
It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent government stops and the rest of society begins, but it juggles the competing demands of Defence, Law & Order, and Healthcare. The average income tax rate is 46%, but much higher for the wealthy. Private enterprise is illegal, but for those in the know there is a slick and highly efficient black market in Cheese Exports.
Same-sex marriages are increasingly common, the government attempting to revitalize a gutted private sector, organ donation rates have hit a new low, and the government extracts trade concessions from poor nations in exchange for humanitarian aid. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is relatively low, thanks to a well-funded police force. Azan's national animal is the oran-gutan, which frolics freely in the nation's many lush forests, and its currency is the The Azani pound.

I am amazed at the negative sentiment towards Akiria, but will destroy any nation that attacks me. My girlfriend has just gone on holiday, so I may be a little... 'cranky' for a little while. I warn all prospective intruders now
