In yet another public statement today, that we're only showing at the moment because this is supposed to be a commercial break and the government paid us for the time, since there's more important news than this, The Monarch of Alecrast had this to say about the Sheepstan Presidents earlier comments.

"It never ceases to amaze me how the Sheepstan government can be so ill informed. We're starting to wonder if they only get their news from yes men. As for "corporations hold the real power", I assume he says this simply because we have some CEO's on the council. My answer to this? So what? There is nothing inheriently evil about corporations. I guess he's just afraid of any business he doesn't control himself through the parliment. Considering that our private corporations have given our people a better standard of life than his government owned ones, I think the evidence speaks for itself. And as for the starving, they're not living on the streets. If he hasn't noticed, his comments about nuclear war have upset some of the airline companies, and we're having trouble getting in the food and medicine that we should have. But no one's died yet, and they won't be. We are a community minded council, and we will make sure our people get their food and medicines, somehow."

The ABC would like to take time out for a second and remind the INN that this will be under world law and in the world court, not New Griffith law and a New Griffith court, so regardless of if the INN is run by a government which doesn't consider the Alecrast government legitimate or not, a point which is irrelevant considering that the ABC is a private corperation, they will be punished to the full extent of the law.

As for the comments about the Alecrast monarch, again we must state that we are a private corperation. Any money we got would be put straight back into the company, and I for one am looking forward to my one time bonus when it's recieved. As for the Alecrast monarch getting anything from when Sheepsta was an Alecrast protectorate, we've looked into that claim at the request of several concerned private citizens, and have found no merit in it.

As for Urbanised, if you haven't noticed, we quietly cut our losses and dropped the issue over a week ago. Besides, even if Urbanised was illegitimate (Which I do not believe it was, since the Court basically validated your New Sheepsta, which was the same sort of thing), that doesn't give you any such right to go for "payback" and do something even more illegitimate. So I will keep pulling out the Ignore Cannons, and rightfully so. occHate to burst you little bubblemate, but as a student of International Relations you are completely wrong. Now, a corrupt dictatorship, ie, the late government of Saddam Hussein, or the numerous despots of Africa, are still legitimate. They may not be the best type but they are the government they have.

Also in regards to Sheepsta, I am changing it to Democratic Socialists as fast as possible, however it seems difficult to budge. Until then I would appreciate it in RP you would treat it as such. As for New Griffith it is a socialist diciatorship of the Green Party, which happens to be a little corrupt.

I see you fail to realise that there is a difference between the recognised government and the legitimate government. They need not be the same thing, and indeed, in the cases you've mentioned, often aren't.

No. RP cannot contradict the NS site. Until it actually is a Democratic Socialist nation, then it will be regarded as whatever it is at the time. In this case, that means that, for now, you're a Corrupt Dictatorship (Looking to move towards "Iron Fist Socialist" or "Compulsory Consumerist State" depending on your next choices I might add). You're just going to have to live with it and face facts.
