Here's an idea I've been throwing around in my head. How about a monthly newsletter that people can subscribe to, to keep them up-to-date and informed. I have already started writing it (in publsiher) and have ideas how to make it into an interactive newsletter. How does this sound?

    How does this sound?
    Useful.
If at first you succeed, you should be doing something tougher.

Sounds interesting, but what will it add to the current weekly updates?

If you are really going to make it interactive, what are you thinking about? Interactive polls?

As much as I like the idea, I'm not sure there is much point in something like this yet - same problem as the newsgroup.... anyone have any idea how big our viewing group actually is? *anybody out there?*

If it is done, can it not simply be done in the all encompasing "language" of HTML?

Okay, wrong wording. Not interactive. What I meant was it will not be done, on paper, it will be computer-based. This was more aimed at people who don't visit the web-site, but want to keep up with the news.

I don't really mind if we decide not to do it, even though I've said I wrote something, that was really only about 10 words
          What does everyone else think?

might be a good idea for the press guys, so they dont bug us anymore

but I would not be subscribed, I am well informed as it is

Hum, I really don't see anything that gives more than we already have. It will be for non-ggs members (if I am right), but even then they could just visit the website...

I have to say thoufg thatthe website is more for developers than it is for promotional purposes.

So I won't stop you, but I don't need it. I will be subsciped though since I will have to chack if you don't give yourself all the credits.

I am inclined to agree with the previous posts. As long as we don't have concrete software to show off, there will be little "outsider" interest in the project. That is, the gap between those who are interested and those who aren't is too wide for there to be any real use for a newsletter. This idea, along with the newsgroup, goes under the category "useful, but not yet".
