  • Contacting and info...

I was lurking through the Alt.Civ forum here, and found an email contact for GSS. I sent an email. Err... it's the mailing list? Well, I suppose that may be as good as anything else. As long as someone thinks to actually copy me back on the reply, as I didn't know it was a list (wasn't listed where I found it), so I didn't subscribe.

Anyways... I have LOADS of questions. Such as...

Is GSS just another ICS slime fest? If you stick with the civ basic design model, everything else you do, no matter how neat, will be just ICS Slime Fighting.

So... what's the basic system? Dish the details or post links. I don't mind reading. I have time.

    Contact

The best place to start is the web-site http://www.gunsgermsandsteel.com/
From there you can go to the "Contact" page and see how to contact each person individually or the list.

Also on the "Models" page you can read a few models, and also the Design Doc, which should answer some questions.

As for your specific question, I'm not sure personally, but I know it has been discussed, especially by Korn the ICS master ( ). Maybe someone else can comment?

Also, Darkstar, would you be interested in a GGS monthly newsletter?

        Hi Darkstar!

Nice to meet you. I'm ElmoTheElk. I am mainly a webmaster and artist of ggs, but I also do some designing.

I see you are looking for an ambitious TBS project that tries to renew the genre and create a really great playable game. Well, you are at the right place!

As heardie already pointed out, we have 1. an official website which has weekly updates. It also contains are latest Design Doc, in the models section. This Design Doc is the core of our project. We have 2. the mailing list. This e-mail driven mailing list is mainly about programming, but also our meeting logs are posted here for example. You ca subscipe to it at http://lists.sourceforge.net/lists/listinfo/civ3-open and you can view the archives at http://www.geocrawler.com/redir-sf.php3?list=civ3-open We also have weekly meetins. Mostly on Thuesday or Sunday at 20:00 GMT, but you might want to check the Meeting Times treat on our Forum for the latest meetings. At last our main meeting place is, as I already metioned, the forum. You already noticed it since you posted here. It is mainly about the design issues that come with the development of GGS.

If you are interested in joining us, as we really like since we always need good team members, you can just pop in to the discussion where you like.

Welcome again and we hope you'll like it!

        ElmoTheElk

(PS I already send you an e-mail with a copy of this message since I don't know how often you visit this boards. I hope you don't mind.)

          Information...

          Hello again!

Well, I've read your design document. I downloaded a couple of your forum posts here to my PDA for easy off line reading... I'm digging through everything (models, notes, etc). So far, it sounds very interesting. Something I would like to see done...

          Thanks for the replies!
