  • How the map schould loos - Terrain proto

I was bored, so I made some first terrain textures. Here they are. Don't know what system we are going to use but I like this 'real' look. We can also choose 'drawn' style or 'rendered'. Or maybe you can think of something better?

I voted for rendered because I think we should (at least first) aim to a map that has simple color encoding and no fancy textures. Simply green for forest, orange for desert grey for mountains and so on. It's easy to zoom, clear enough for our purposes and does not clutter the screen too much. Oh, and I don't envision borders around every hex... that seems rather counter-productive given that our goal is to move away from tile-centered view to region based.

My vote is for realistic, and without the grid lines - at least for now, I'd really need to see examples of what we could use before I could make a 'real' choice.

And Elmo, love the title of this thread "How the map schould loos", the joys of fast typing?
