Concrete, Abstract, or Squoingy? "I don't believe in giving scripting languages because the only additional power they give users is the power to create bugs." - Mike Breitkreutz, Firaxis
I dont think I ever got the concrete feat, but then +5% production wouldnt make much difference in small cities at that time anyway.
Good idea the feats, shame there wasnt more earlier ones.
Is there a limit to how many feats you can specify in adding anymore?

You can add more I think, and you can easily make their effects, but their cause has to be SLICable, because the in-game ones are hard-coded.

OK ill save the frenzy of slic questions. Changing the late game ones is ample.

Any ideas for feats not related to number of certain buildings or first-to-advances?

Hmm never really given it much thought on different types. Just i wouldve prefered more early feats, that i got challeged by the ai to win.
First thing that springs to mind, a certain amount of trade routes brings a rise is commerce or extra gold from trade.

Or maybe a Wonder itself being a feat of wonder. Completing certain parts of a wonder, say the Great Wall. Each city builds different parts so when all the various parts are completed in each city it triggers the feat "The Great Wall Feat", bringing some kind of bonus that i havent thought of yet. And maybe a wonder that isnt already in the game.
Making it a much more empire-wide effort. I wouldnt know how the ai would handle it though.

I havent often seen the AI make alliances with other AI, so that might be easy pickings for the human.
Maybe even negative feats, like the first nation to have a city revolt it would receive nationwide -1 happiness for 10 turns maybe not.
Its hard to find new feats that the AI would have an equal chance at.

Feats (as well as regular wonders) are actually a bad thing: they give civs who are already doing well enough to achieve a feat a bonus. This makes the rich richer and the poor poorer. Of course they're fun to have, so abolishing them altogether isn't a great idea either but IMHO there shouldn't be too many and the effects should be weak and temporary. I like the idea of negative feats, it's been brought up before (by Harlan IIRC) but not as Maq suggests it: when you're the first to research gunpowder, enemy cities temporarily get a bonus in defense (rather than a penalty). This idea I like: the rich get poorer and the poor get richer...
The example Harlan gave, I think, was the first person to research industrialisation received less of a production bonus from his factories, because they would be less efficient, and did not have the examples of others to work from.

I like the idea opposite gunpowder feat. Either build a load of infantrymen now and attack against at most their pikemen, or wait for the feat effect to wear off and by that time others would have gunpowder too.
The main reason wonders were suggested banned in MP, makes the leader stronger.
All positive excesses should recieve negative effects, except for the AI. I dont mind it cheating. As long as it doesnt rely on it.
