Amazon has it for around $10 plus shipping and handling so you should be be able to get it with $15 of total out of pocket expenses. Now, to anwser your question; yes you should buy it. It will run much faster then Civ3 and even older slower systems will be able to run it with no problems.

The mods make the game both fun and challenging plus if you ever want to truly difficult challenge you can always start up an MP game and try your luck aganst other human players.

Definately get it, but make sure you download the Super Apolyton Pack mod, and modswapper. CtP2 modded is a good game as will many other posters here will probably say.

BTW, diplomacy in Civ3 is existant and works pretty good. That is a topic for another forum however.

Be careful where you buy it. At the local mall, they had it for $29.99. At Walmart it cost $9.99 (in fact they had it for the same price as CTP1).

I cant find Civ:CtP anywhere now. I played it on and off so i swapped it ages ago for Champ Manager 97/98 having crushed my original copy with my wheely chair. And now i want CtP1 again.

About 2/3 month ago i saw CtP1 and 2 wrapped together for £12.99 ($19.50) in HMV. Strange.

Maquiladora, check HMV or Electronics Boutique(UK - that's your loc right?).As of last week both games were on a buget label priced at £3.99 for CTP1 and £4.99 for CTP2. sweet

Pat46, look around and you should be able to pick them up very cheap(better than 19.95($?) - definatly worth having in any civ fan/strat fan's collection. Give the games a bit of effort(Mod them, and try them out properly- remember it's not exactly a civ copy!). You should be rewarded with months(if not years!) of fun gaming. Go for it
