  • Contacting Civs beyond #8

I usually play with NumPlayers=9 and MaxPlayers=16 with the idea that revolts may lead to viable civs...but I forget how to see info about those excess civs, in particular on the diplomacy screen. This might be a worthwhile addition to the FAQ or at least a mod of Q07.

    Thanks.

Normally the limit is 8 civs though I know it can be modded into accepting a maximium of 32 civs in one game. I'm not sure how would contact civs 9-32 in the mod since I have only used it once before and it was many years ago.

70 more 'til Warlord... Its in the FAQ

I don't usually bother with finding out about them, I mean, they have one city to start with (almost always), and by exchanging maps with all the other civs, you can find out where they are (one civ will always have contact with them). Then go conquer.
          Concrete, Abstract, or Squoingy?

Ah, I see what sort of diplomacy you prefer. I didn't know marsupials were that aggressive...but then, maybe that's why most of them aren't immortal.

It was said: "Diplomacy is the art of saying 'nice doggie' until you can find a rock"

I think a global empire vs one city is a sufficiently large "rock", no?

Of course if you were truly immortal then you would have the one city, they would have the global empire, and you would still win the war.

Yeah, are you ever gonna submit that to the file database?

Contacting civs that are beyond #8

There are two ways of doing this. However, I know of only the one. Go to the Trade Advisor and there you will see with whom you can and cannot trade. Just doubleclick the civ you want to "chat" with.

But there is another way in the Foreign Advisor Window. But I forgot how to do it. You can with this also check the number of left turns for some agreement you have with the civ.

                            Kalkas7,

Are you possibly confusing Civ3 with CTP2?
