The new server move was something we all, but especially the Apolyton Staff, were desperately waiting for. Now a lot of new things will be possible. For one thing, it got me a new email address: locutus@apolyton.net (or wouter@apolyton.net or ctp2files@apolyton.net, whichever you prefer). I'm making this my primary email address so I'd appreciate it if any mail sent to me is from now on sent to one of those addresses (and no longer to locutus-of-borg@hetnet.nl or w.snijders@student.utwente.nl).

Also, Markos gave me a 100MB FTP account for CtP2-related usage. This is not the same as the file database we're all waiting for, but it's a start. For one thing, I *could* run the CTP2 Game of the Month/Tournament feature from there, but I'll ask Markos how he wants to deal with that. If anyone else has anything that they think should be available on Apolyton (but not in the file database - that will hopefully return in the near future as well), let me know and I'll upload it.

This morning when i typed 'apolyton.net' to get here it sent me to 'Aristotle University of Thessaloniki - school of Engineering' !!!
I thought maybe i'd had too hard a night
Had to use '.com' ,but it seems to be fine now
The links are working now as well.

EDIT: insert www. infront of 'apolyton.net' - i'm not lazy! Still it was interesting( ) reading about mechanical engineering

I guess my CTP2 database e-mails for Marcos has still to wait, how long I have them in my e-mail program saved, ready for sending to Marcos gamestat address, that is really long ago.

Same thing for me. Although i find it adding www. at the beggining. Do you think some people wont be able to find apolyton again?

Locutus. We should start our database soon. I dont want to have dificlties to find important files/scripts.

          CoT, Pedrunn,
It should work fine by now (it does for my ISP), or at least within a few hours...

          Martin,
Files for the database should be submitted to me rather than Markos, but not quite yet...

I know, but I'm afraid it's not in my hands...

Maybe not. Took me a couple tries. ".net" took me to what looked like the Apolyton home page, except the links were all dead. ".com" took me to the "Aristotle University of Thessaloniki", held it for a few seconds, then bounced me here right as I was reaching to click the back arrow and give up.

I had the same experience, seeing "Good Old AU" briefly and then landing here.

just want to say that we're geting there

until we have our new database system ready, you can mail files to locutus(max size 4mb/mail) and he can list them in a thread here

                thanks for your patience

ps. and yes, any ctp2-related files can be posted there

Yes, people can mail small mods to me, if they don't have another place to upload it to, but I don't plan on putting things like Cradle, MedMod and WaW up there as I would probably crash into the 100MB limit within hours... Besides, my 250free.com website is still open for everyone as well (which has the advantage that you can update it yourself, rather than having to wait for me to do it for you) and still has over 150MB worth of free space. (As always server: ftp.250free.com; user: ctpmodmakers; password: bl00drun).

Edit: BTW, I think we should add a new Feat of Wonder to the game: MarkG visiting the CtP2 forums on his own initiative

You didn't mention GoodMod again but I only would send it to you for the DataBase. For my waiting e-mails the last one I stored for Markos in my e-mail program was written last year and last modified at Christmas. The other one was sent to Markos a long time ago, so I have to resend it to you. BTW you are right it is a wonder that Markos visit the CTP2 forum and post here, maybe he visits this forum more frequently than we thing.

                      Martin,
I didn't mention GoodMod because I don't know how big it is. How big is it (the whole shabang)?

About Markos visiting here more often then we think: don't count on it (yes, I know some things you don't)...

Ok, l just added file sizes to my homepage, but that means you don't have it. Maybe 3541 kb for the whole pack and 1427 kb for the text update of GoodMod v.0.99. Wait some minutes for the update of my page although with DSL the upload of 3541 kb + 1427 kb needs a little bit longer. just realized that would be under the limit that Marcos mention, but I have my own page and my own thread.

Did I send anyone the Pelopponese War scenario I got by email from an Italian guy?
                          Concrete, Abstract, or Squoingy?

I have so many files, I don't even know what I have... It's probably around here somewhere but I haven't gotten around to playing it yet (but then again, I haven't gotten around to playing any game recently)... But if it comforts you, I just re-downloaded the latest version today...

Markos's limit was a limit *per email* so bigger files can be mailed to me but you'd have to split them up in several files. In any case, I think I'll keep your mod on the reserve bench for now: I want to put a bunch of small modifications on my Apolyton FTP account but I'll start with the smaller ones (once I have a website set up). If there's enough room left, I'll add bigger files such as your GoodMod.

                            IW,
No, but please do forward it to me...
