  • MM2 Strat question

In the MM2.1 Readme, Wes wrote: "Note: The mod is balanced assuming that the human disbands his second starting settler. I usually use mine as a scout for several turns before disbanding it. "

Okay, but why? Is it because an early second city is indefensible?

Yeah, I wondered about that too. Why on earth would anyone voluntarily disband such a valuable unit? That would be a major setback in the early game, at least the way I play...

I guess that's the point. It's to make it harder.
      Concrete, Abstract, or Squoingy?

Then just give me 1 settler (or maybe 1 settler and 1 warrior)...

One can carry this "making it harder" stuff a bit too far, deliberately shooting yourself in the foot...or higher.

This came about because I did not understand one of the settings in the game. I only meant for the human to have one settler on the hardest settings, and for the AIs to have two. I did not know that there were separate settings for the human and the AI as to how many settlers each were given. I thought that both used the human setting.

Anyway, use this diffdb from now on. If you have trouble with the dl, email me thru the button above.
