well i've tested CTP1(unpatched and patched), and had no trouble reloading in multiplayer....the fact that you mentioned it started loading but didn't finish does seem to suggest the problem might be more to do with the setup than the game itself, although it is strange that CTP2 works ok
I used the same process for reloading as i outlined for CTP2 above. I was using two pc's over a Lan TCP/IP network and everything was fine so i'm afraid i can't help any further - maybe it just read/write error's? I always 'Launch' the game first and everyone else launch's after?
