  • My last hope...

Fellow Call to Power 2 players!

I got this game last Christmas and played it for about a month. Everything was working fine... until I just recently decided to reinstall it again and have a go at some of the many user-created modifications that are now available...

Imagine my surprise (and sorrow) when, after having installed the game again, I found that I was unable to play it. Every other game on my computer works, just not this one. When I try to launch it, I get this error message every time (this is roughly translated, as I have the Swedish version of Windows 98):

The file MSVCP60.DLL is linked to export, MSVCRT.DLL:__lc_collate_cp, that does not exist.

It makes no sense, since my computer is just about exactly the same as it was when I last played it, and since all the other games works fine. But then again, I guess little about Call to Power 2 does make sense.

I've tried everything suggested at the Activision support pages. I've reinstalled the game a dozen times, I've reinstalled DirectX 8 and I've even reinstalled Windows 98. I have no idea what to do now, and I have no means to combat the sudden Call to Power 2 craving I'm currently suffering!

I was hoping that perhaps one of you guys would know what to do... or else... my Call to Power 2 CD will just be collecting dust for the rest of time. Please help me!

Try to play in another person computer to know if the problem is your computer or the CTP2 cd.
Did you try completely delete all the CTP2 remaining files from the uninstall?

Civ III is coming out within a month... that is your beat bet for a good civ game... I haven't had installation problems with CTP II and the only problems could be if you try to use different mods without modswapper as far as I know.

but this is obviously not the case... try uninstalling it and delete the activision folder, plus wipe the CD... other than that no idea...
