Isn't ctp2 set to end at about 2300ad? I think it is. That can be changed I'm sure. I think this could be editied through the DiffDB.txt in ctp. I've not begun editing ctp2 yet though. Still fumbling my way through editing some stuff in the original ctp. The game should actually show an end screen though, not just crash to finish it. Although that's quite an apt ending considering all the other crashes so commonly found throughout ctp2.
I'd really suggest trying the updated patch. The stack dump numbers etc. don't make much sense to me sorry. The game will always make a list of the stuff that gets dumped when it loses the plot. Any particular action that you're trying to do when this crash happens?

If it occurrs while the system is moving/attacking AI civ units, then
yes I've encountered this one. Commonly it shows up just before 2200.
I have no idea on how to fix it.

hmm, I've got Win98, and I reached 2300 AD numerious times. Dunno what to suggest ya, except the obvious stuff -- Do you have the official patch? Or may be one of the mods screwed something up? (Who knows what these nerds put into them. No offense )
As a last resort -- try to re-install the damn thing. That usually works for any crappy game!

          Oi!
I haven't modded in months so I forget where excactly in DiffDB you would find that but I doubt that that's the problem it looks more like a system error so maybe you're right Mokael but I would try re-installing the game first.

EDIT: Just looked DiffDB doesn't contain the end year just when eras start.
