Succession Game Update

To anyone interested:

We are planning a Succession game of CTP2 (see the CIV2 boards for an example) to officially start APRIL 1st, 2001.

We have a total of 6 players so far.
If anyone else would like to join, post a message here.
If you want to keep your e-mail confidential, then send me an additional message to SCANGA@AOL.COM.
This Last Call will be until March 30th, 2001 one minute before midnight.
After that... sorry no additional players can be accepted. (I need a day to get everyone's e-mail address in order)

Please see the previous thread entitled "SUCCESSION GAME?", for the rules.

We will be passing the saved game file from player to player and describing our actions on a new CTP2 forum thread (not created yet).

If you decide to join, please make sure that you are playing with the original CTP2 files only with no modifications. This is really just a trial run, and if it is fun and successful we will do it again with MODS, or Tweaks.

I will start the game off with the posting of a new thread, and a description of what happened in the first 20 turns. It is not necessary to follow my format.. just be creative and describe any way you want.

Unless the other 5 players object... we will begin as the GREEKS, and our leader name is "THE FORUM". Hey, it's a start.
Difficulty level will be set to Very Hard. (which is equivalent to somewhere around chieftan on CIV2).

Okay, enough rambling! Let the recruitment begin!

Why not call the leader "Apolyton". It sounds appropriate for a Greek leader after all? (Alternatively we could call him Markos Giannopoulos, after the Greek co-owner of this site )

UPDATE: There remains but 4 days left for anyone else to join our succession game! By midnight of March 30th it will be closed off until the next one (if we're successful and it's entertaining).

(I just got #7 on my e-mail today).

The file is less than 1 MB, so it shouldn't be too bad for download.
If it takes a while, just go to the kitchen and make a sandwich. That's what I do. (The real reason I gained 10 lbs. after getting married).

I was just thinking of posting the turn order last night. Here it is so far:

An e-mail to all of you will be going out today to confirm that I have the correct addresses. The game will begin very soon! I will probably play the first 20 turns on Saturday March 31st... then the file will be sent to Sean.

If you zip it, the size can actually get down to around 100k.

I can't wait for this game to get started. It's going to be interesting with other people as the same civ! It will be a good learning experience by seeing how others do things.
