I'm unable to enter the lobbys once I enter the server room. I try us1 and us2, yet it always keeps me out. I have a 56k connection and have never had a bit of MP problem with CTP. I hope there is a simple solution such as altering .dll's or something. I'd hate to lose the only reason I bought this game.

Same here. The *very* first time I tried to enter I succeeded; ever since then, no luck. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling, installing to different directories, searching/purging registry entries... nothing. I fail to join the lobby; the game locks up.
Fun!

This was a common problem for me with CTP1. The servers.dat becomes corrupted. My usual solution was to get a good servers.dat file from another player. I now keep a backup of my good server.dat file. When I had the problem initially, Activison said it had to do with certain servers being up or down, the server.dat file is updated everytime you connect and if the activision servers are having problems you don't get your file updated. Their solution was to delete the file and connect again, but if the servers aren't working right you have the same problem again."The greatest happiness of life is the conviction that we are loved - loved for ourselves, or rather, loved in spite of ourselves."--Victor Hugo

I have the same problem. I have yet to try the "servers.dat" fix discussed above but I will. Here's what Activsion says:
==========================
Problem
I can't join the lobby in multiplayer because of an "Unable to join lobby" message.
Solution
Call to Power 2 may be incompatible with some high-speed internet connections. Those Internet Service Providers, which require you to dial-in and establish a connection in order to access the internet, and use PPPOE (Point-to-Point Protocol Over Ethernet), may be unable to play Call to Power 2 over the internet. If you receive the message "Unable to join lobby" when selecting any server from the Internet Server List, Call to Power 2 may not support internet play through your Internet Service Provider. LAN play over TCP/IP and IPX should not be affected by this.

Turns out that PPPoE wasn't my problem at all - it was a corrupt servers.dat file. I had a friend send me a copy of his servers.dat file (he actually CAN connect to multiplayer) and viola! I have MultiPlayer again! Try it!Everything I need to know I learned from Civilization: Whatever it is, nukes are the answer.
