  • Save Game Bug

Apolyton Pack (1.0), Ultra Gigantic Map, 10 of 11 remaining civs, 2015.

I have saved this game many times, but for some reason now it crashes everytime I try. The game play is normal and no other bugs are apparent. The Auto-Save is capturing the game perfectly, but that's a poor way to go about it. I have not yet tried to see if this bug is present in other unfinished savedgames.

I've considered ditching the game altogether, since I want to download and play the 2.0 version, but I just can't quite make myself do it before I severely punish the pirating English. Any suggestions/help?

    Thanks

I heard that the full save should have some difficuilties you could try the autosave or the fast save at first.

This seems to be a consistent problem when using Ultra-Gigantic maps, as the same thing was happening to me in Cradle games.

Dale has pulled the Ultra-Gigantic map settings from his current Apolyton Pack too - I think, in part, because of this problem.

Interesting. It's just that I played quite a number of games on the Ultra Gigantic Map and have not had any savegame/crash problem until a couple of days ago. The only problems I've had with that size map is that the time between each consecutive turns became longer and longer until it would reach up to five minutes, and when it did save the game, it took up to ten minutes. The irony is, since the autosave works perfectly, it only takes two seconds to crash and save the game, as opposed to the aforementioned ten minutes. Maybe I should stop not worry about it.

It's a shame about the Ultra Gigantic Maps not working so well, I love those massive 70-90 city empires spread all about the globe.
