  • Difficulty Levels with Mods

On what difficult levels do you play when you're playing a mod?

I mean, we all know that, in the vanilla game, the AI is a total pushover even on Impossible level.

I'm playing two games now, one with Apolyton Pack and the other with Cradle 1.2. The AI is better on both of them, especially on Cradle, although not too hard (I'm playing on Hard level). All in all, I don't see much of an improvement on this level. Maybe I should play on Very Hard or on Impossible?
I watched you fall. I think I pushed.

Yeah I know it is much easier to catch up in science in Apolyton Pack than in GoodMod. For the AI I am working on a better sollution than frenzy but in the meantime you could try GoodMod with your own addition of fenzy.

Yes, in my experience it does make a difference. I don't play often but even I don't find King/Hard particularly difficult. It's somewhat challenging in the early game but get's much easier once you've established yourself. OTOH, (at least) half the time I can't even win on Deity/Impossible anymore! (but like I said, I don't play too often and am far from the best player out there).
