Ok, here is what I'd do. I'd download the mod that lets you play with 32 civs (plus one Attila) the save in your MP folder as senerio. Then find your MP buddies and enjoy!

Just to add that i often play single player games this way, especially on small/medium size maps,as you have much more control over the game you play and the civs you play against.
I see lots of people doing this and I must admite it sure would beat a normal SP game. Plus you can leave the other seats open and maybe another player will drop in. The only problem is you need another player inorder to launch the game.

Aha! So that's why it doesn't work for me! I tried this trick too some time ago but for some reason the game wouldn't launch after I had set up everything. I just gave up on it at the time; hardly have time to play anyway, might as well play the regular game when I do. But if there's some sort of trick people know to solve this problem, I'd wouldn't mind knowing about it... (Would make a good addition to the FAQ too - it may not be frequently asked but it's something every player ought to know about).

To my knowledge no one has addressed this issue. I assume we could fix this problem by simply eliminating the offending line that says (effectively) "check to see if to or more players are present, if yes then proceed, if no then block launch". Perhaphes someone else has looked into this before and can shed some light on this; I think this would be a great addition to a mod if we could figure out how to enable it.

Heh great!I wouldn't have thought of that.So i just launch it as a scenerio?I'll play around with it and let you know how it goes, it could be great
As to the other bit about SP games in multiplayer launch - i just create my game, add the 6 or 7 other civs(if i remember right if you try 8 other civs it crashes or won't launch or something, the no:8 civ might be reserved for Barbarians?) and it launches fine with just my computer on(no-one else needed to launch it), is this what both of you are on about?
