  • Freeing Slaves

I know that you can free slaves when you conquer an enemy's city, but is it possible to free slaves within your own cities before the Emancipation Act is built?

Nope, sorry, not as far as I know. Just don't catch 'em if you don't want them...

Well, If I had seen any possibilities I would have mentioned it. The only thing I can think of (just thought of it right now) is to decrease the city to size 1 and then increase it again to it's old size. That would remove all but 1 of the slaves (you could try decreasing the city to size 0 to get rid of that final slave but that would probably destroy the city).

My first idea was to create a Babarian Abolitionist and force it to use the UndergroundRailwayOrder or the UndergroundRailwayUnit wvent to free the slaves but I have no idea if you use an Abolitionist on a forign city if these slaves become normal civilians of the attacked city or will the join the cities of the attacker.

Anouther idea would be to allow the player who have slaves to build Abolitioinst. The only problem is if the free slaves works on the own cities.

You could give the city away to another player and then simply retake it the same turn.
