Having recently got hold of CTP2, I find that every time I play, I have the same opponents. Can I change this at all?

Go to the userprofile.txt and change the line NonRandom civs to No. In this file you can also change th numbers of opponents to up to 32 in the line NumPlayes

Cheers. Is there anything else I ought to do to enhance the game?

          Are you using any mods?
If not get one urgently. And do never play CTP2 plain.

          Here a resume of them.

Apolyton - If you want to play the original game with the bugs fixed.

MedMod - Bunch of new things: new units, new concepts, new advances, new govs...

Craddle - Bunch of new things too but for those who like ancient/medieval age. Almost all changes are there. By the way the most aggressive AI.

dont worry about loosing the original files they do not overwrite one another. You still wil get the option to play either the original or the or the moded versions.

Also keep in mind that you can't have random opponents on the lowest level.
