  • Aircraft Carrier Problems

When I land a fighter or bomber on a aircraft carrier I cannot launch them

The only way to get them off the carrier is to move the carrier next to a land tile and unload the planes onto the land tile.

I have reported this problem to Activision who claim this is a game play problem ??

    Any ideas

Just go to View Cargo option, then choose the plane you want to unload and get it off.

By the Way, to go to the View Cargo option just press the little squares that become green when the ship is loaded.

Also, I think you need to click on the aircraft to launch, then use to offload button (the box with the arrow) to "offload" (i.e. deploy) the aircraft. Once its on another square, you're flying.

Since I'm about to invade another country using naval-air units in a critical role, I hope this works.

Thanks it has baffled me for ages

Click on the "cargo" then use the offload button and click on the square next to the carrier.

It has been driving me mad and I must have lost 5 or 6 carriers because of this !!

The Manual is not very clear.

Next problem HOW do you kill a sub ??

Cant help you there - in most of my games , the baddies get ironclads and stop. Of course, with Wes's new mods, I'm hoping for a das boot game.

I figure that units like destroyers and frigates (maybe) can see subs. I suppose that means they can then attack them. Couldn't be sure, since I've never done it.

Glad you launched. Yeah, it took a while to work out, and like you said, it isn't clear at all!

I've played many games and have seen a lot of naval action.

Destroyers and PT boats can indeed engage and destroy subs. I pretty sure that both vessles can detect subs. If all you have is ships of the line and ironclads than you're in trouble as these ships can only defend against sub attacks and not attack the subs. A tactic that I use is bombard the sub once with either a destroyer or pt boat and then attack the sub in the next turn.

Hope this helps and good gaming!
