  • An oldtime newbie has some questions

Okay, heres the thing - I downloaded the modswapper and Wes's Medival pack. I really like what I see. But I got some questions about whats going on.

First, I saved the game and came back to find myself as one of my enemies! Huh! Did I defect or something? How can I go back to playing the race I started with?

The wonders movies - after they run, there is a panel on the screen. How can I get rid of the panel (without having to save the game and experiance my first point (sigh)).

There are units in this game with "*" markings. What do these mean? Does only the first race with this advance get them? I've yet to see any of the marked units available for my use.

    Thanks.

A panel I guess you mean the wonder movie window click on it and it will be closed. You savegame problem occurs if you save and it is not your turn. (It is not related to the MedPack.) When wonder movie is played you do not reached your turn and if you save I guess you will end as Barbarian leader.

Unit marks with a "*" elite units that only one nation should be able to build this unit. Usually it is the first nation that gets the enabling advance.

Oh well - back to the dawn of time, I suppose.

Im certain that I clicked all over that darn wonder movie. I couldn't get the box to close. Does anyone else have this problem?

Still, love what the game has become.

I have had that problem occasionally with clicking on the wonder movies. I just keep trying and usually when I hit the border at the bottom or is it the top it will finally disappear. I panic sometimes, but it finally goes away. The elite units have a 1/6 chance of being "discovered" when you get that advance. Only one civ at a time can get that elite unit.

This happen with me once. Because after playing the game i went to check out how my enemies were in the cheat mode. After seeing it i forgot to get back to my civ (player 1). and saved the game as my estimated enemies the Zulu (player 5).
