Herein lies the transcript of the history of the World according to Apolyton.. the greatest and most celebrated leader of all time. (In other words... a record of the cumulative history of all the players actions of our first Call to Power 2 Succession game!).
And so it begins....
It is the dawn of civilization. For many generations man has roamed the earth in restless tribes. But now, a particular tribe called THE GREEKS, lead by a genius of a leader known as APOLYTON, has built the first city; ATHENS.
Nestled in a great bend of a mighty river, Athens was founded in 4000 BC. For the next 140 years, she was utterly defenseless.
Not to worry, though. After that time, a regiment of warriors was commissioned to defend her.
By the year 3800 BC, the original regiment was utilized as an exploration unit while a new regiment was commissioned to replace them as defenders of Athens.
Around the year 3600 BC, the exploration unit discovered the remnants of an ancient city! Inside the city a band of settlers was persuaded to join us. Also around this same year our fledgling civilization discovered Bronze Working! Our first troop of Hoplites begins training.
It is now 3500 BC. The travelers we picked up 100 years ago (yeah, I know, they're old, maybe it's their grandkids now), have found the source of a new river to the southwest and are ready to build a new city. The regiment of exploration warriors are with them and ready to defend.
We are currently researching the science of Ballistics.
Since it's founding, Athens has tripled in population!
The people of Athens are basically content. They work very long hours, get paid very little, and don't have much to eat... but hey, that's life in the ancient age.
