  • Should Settler and Urban-Planner have the ability to settle in another city???

Why not! All these years i have been trying to colonize another continent in the game. Yet, it end-up failure every time. (ie crashing by Barbian, went into rebellion, crashing by another civ, ect)

I don't understand, what do you mean by "settleing another city"?

Do you mean changing the support costs from one city to another or what?

I may be a little slow today, but I don't understand exactly what your asking.

Are we talking about the feature from civ2 when a settler "Build"s in a city it increases it's size?

Here is something maybe u will understand

If City A built a settler. Then, that settler move to City B. After that, use that settler and click the settle command right in the City B. Now that settler is gone, but there are population increase in city B. Got it.

            Ok, now I understand

That is a feature in Hasbro's CIV2 and is not included in Activision's CTP2. Different Companies, different games...so the answer is no, you can not increase a city's population buy using the settler to build inside an already existing city.

On the other hand, building a settler reduces population by 1 in either game.

Also, I think in Civ2 you could only use the settle command to increase the population in a city that was below size-8. Otherwise, no-can-do.

Yes, I've used this a lot in Civ II, as a part of my strategy, to grow some city quickly. I used to establish nets of 5 cities, where 4 construct Settlers and the one in center keeps growing. Of course, road connections are more than handy in such a situation.
So, my vote here would be yes, and no doubt some of the modmakers could make it.

leonli316, isn't this really best discussed in the civ iii forum. Why ctp II should or should not of been done this way is not an issue. We have to accept the way it was done, (or play with the mods). It is do late to change this game.
