Changing the "Yes" to a "No" does absolutly nothing for me. It doesnt go back to "Yes" after I change it, It stays "No" but the civs are still the same no matter what the line says
try also puting nonrandomcivs to no on the profile.txt file in ctp2_data\default\gamedata

I don't want to set the Civ's I play, that's just as bad. I want it RANDOM!

Im packing this game up and selling it on Ebay. I wont get my $50 bucks back but hopefully I can cut my losses.

WTF??? You want to sell the same(and make a loss) when your only problem is that the civs arent random?
          Are you crazy?

I was so frustrated that I emailed Mr. Ogre last night on this problem. Hopefully he or another Activision guy can shed some light on it.

I've got same problem, Mad-Kat! The program keeps changing NonRandomCivs back to Yes! Let us know if you hear anything from Activision. I have to be able to beat up on the evil Greeks once and while!

                  On a probably related note..

                  Why am I always blue?

No matter what civ I am I'm always blue!
Can we make this random too?

I LIKED being pink in civ1 and orange in civ2(i play greeks )

Can someone point the right way to change this?

you cant make it random, but you can change it. see colors00.txt in the Call To Power 2\ctp2_data\default\gamedata folder
                    look out for "COLOR_PLAYER1"
