  • What the heck happened to the fusion tank?

First of all, GREAT GAME!!! I played CTP1 a lot, and got CTP2 on Wednesday, then cooked a huge pot of Chili, took Friday off of work, and did not get much sleep the whole weekend. Especially the new diplomacy is lots of fun. I think that I sprained my index finger

But one big complaint: What the heck did the person who designed the sprite for the fusion tank think??? In CTP1, the fusion tank was my favorite unit in the late game, and it looked really coool! But now? What's this???

Can I simply replace the new sprites with the ones from the old game? If so, does annyone know how?

Yeah, the warrior got screwed too. I really miss "Blood will run" and that cool head-dress :-)

yes you can change the sprites. I think there is some info in one of the other forums on this. Don't like the fusion tank? It can go through the water so I guess they wanted more of a "boat" look. Only a guess.

LOL! So that's what that Warrior is saying!

Okay, get your tomatos ready. I thought he was saying "Grog shall run" (his name, of course, being "Grog") because it looked like he was running.

Oh great. Who's gonna play MP against a dunce like me now?? :-P

Hahahahaha! I also thought the warrior was saying "Grog shall run" except I thought his name was "Flug!"

For a fair while I thought he was just talking anchient gibberish, but it came to me after a while.

            You're not alone anyway.

              Back to the topic...
Yes, you can change sprites (there's a thread about it in the CtPII Creation Forum), but there's one problem: we don't have the original CtPI sprites In CtPI all files are packaged in one large archive and you can't take individual files out of it. I'm really hoping Activision will decide to give us these sprites as seperate files or give us some utility that will allow us to access those individual sprites and such.

I knew what he was saying, but I still called him lug and kept telling him to run faster.

ROFL. My wife heard the warrior's blurb as "Nuns will run!". From the Longship, "Prepare to lag!"

But my favorite was hearing my canonneers, in a gruff, menacing voice, complain, "I'm confused!" Took me a while to realize it was "light the fuse..."

FYI: You (the mod-maker) are free to include whatever graphics you desire. Activision, on the other hand, can't because of licensing issues. This is why it is called Call To Power 2 and not Civilization: Call To Power 2. So don't look for much help from Activision in this area.

Ironically, when I asked Electronic Botique whether they had Call to Power 2 in, the sales rep corrected me saying "We have Civilization: Call to Power 2." Apparently he looked it up under Call, but found it under Civilization.

The Native-American warrior look turned me off in CTP1; glad they changed that.

Game is great, and, unlike when I started playing the original, I have a hankering to keep playing the sequel.

                        It's like X-mas in November!
